I have one of these on order and I was just wondering if anyone out there has put one together yet. There is not alot of info out there on the version 2. Just after peoples setups, pics, and overall opinions of the kit (both constuction and flying wise). I have heard various rumors that they are alot better than the version 1 in both construction and flying.
Cheers Rusty

I agree, there's not much info out there. Not even Wild Hare has a good pic of it ... just a single plan view shot of it taken in the factory. I'd love to see a side view pic of the plane and a pic of the underside covering scheme. ... Tom, you listening?

I am planing on using a DA50 with mtw 75 canister for power, hitec digitals all round. Basically an identical setup to my 28% extra.

Hello Guys,
i got at the moment 10 flight with my Edge 540T V2 from Wildhare, its the BEST 3D plane i ever flew thill this date. Its have DA 50 with cannister setup, all around Hitec servo's, emotec with 2 lipo 1500 Mha batteries, schoke servo and mezlick 23x8 prop, runs 7000 rpm The weight is 8.4 kg dry, more than my buddys V1 Edge, his weights 7.2kg The plane is very forgiven, allot off wind today, but i did two harrierlandings, the harriers are rock solid, the blenders are very flat Hoovering is very easy with this plane, i will try soon as possible to put a little movie on my site, hope the wetter will gets better here, alot off rean and wind. Hi Guys,
I have a V1 Edge ("probuilt" same as WH) with DA50, slimline pitts muffler, mejzlick 23x8 Tru turn spinner, 2x 1650mah nickel metal batts. I was interested to see the weights posted by "rappy", mine weighs 18lbs 4 ozs or 8.25 kgs. The scales I used are new, but they are only kitchen scales (0 TO so I do not know how accuarate they. I consider this to be fairly heavy |

Here are a few pics I found on the Wild Hare support forums on RCU.
Interesting the weight's discussed so far. Seems the V2 comes out heavier than the V1. I was under the impression it was the other way around. My probuilt/Wild Hare extra 300lx comes in at a touch over 7.6kg. I would like to keep the edge under the 8kg mark if possible.

Hello guys,
mine was weight on a digital scale, so i dont think this scale was off, 8.4 kg seems high, but the plane flies great. Only diffrence i could see was moving out off hover is not so quick like i used to see with my yak, this yak weight 7.2 kg, also with DA 50. My buddies Edge V1 feels lighter on the sticks in flight, but wingrocks in harrier, the V2 is rock solid. All great flyers, wildhare did a great job here Regards Chris |

I just finished one with a Taurus 3.2 that should do it's first flight tomorrow. I don't have a clue what it weighs yet. My only concessions to weight were a C/F wing tube, RCBlimp medium tailwheel, H-9 light weight 3-1/2" wheels, and an Esprit Models C/F spinner. I'll post some pics here in a moment and get back to ya'll about flying after tomorrow.
As for the assembly it was pretty straight forward and everything fit extremely well. It was so easy to do I didn't ever need to look at the instruction manual. The plane is constructed light. Wings are built up, with a sharper leading egde than the original version. That should make for a better stall break and easier flat spins. The only change I would make would be to re-drill the hole for the tailwheel a little more aft to where the bend for the tailwheel wire was located directly under the rudder post. That would make for better ground steering and more positive tailwheel linkage. |
