Default xtreme comp are hey any good

Hi I was wondering If the xtreme comps that bvmprops.com sells are any good. I want to buy a composite Edge but Composite arf doesnt make any. So I found this company and was wondering about how they fly and if they are built nice.

Thanks
Tom

I've got one, and it's awesome. Prior to BVM, they were distributed in the US by Planes Plus, that's where mine came from, it's got well over a hundred hard flights on it, and still looks like new. The quality is every bit as good as my friend's Composite Arf Yak. Flying wise, I couldn't be happier, it's just under 24 pounds with a DA100 and a single 5955TG on each surface, and it's great, power is incredible, 3d is as good as it gets, harriers are rock solid with no rocking, tumbles and spins wind themselves up very tight, and it flies precision very well. THe only thing it doesn't do well is stall, like all Edges, it just kinda mushes, so for IMAC stalls/spins, you gotta force it, not hard to do, just takes a bit of timing.

Bottom line, I love mine, check the gallery for a great pic. If you do a search for 2.6 Edge here and on RCU there's a few threads. General consensus is those that fly them, love them. I knows CSpaced has one too, maybe he'll chime in.

I just found this post

I've got a gallon through mine now and I'm loving every minute of it. The quality is every bit as good as comp arf, I know this because my buddy has the comp arf 2.6m extra so we were able to compare side by side.

I don't know the exact weight of mine, I'm running a DA-100 with MTW cannister mufflers, Hitec 5955's all around except for two 8611a's on the rudder. Eury was right when he said it doesn't like to stall, it just kind of...well....mushes. Knife edges are a breeze with only a small amount of coupling. Rolls are axial, and the power is awesome. The biggest thing I noticed when I first started flying it was how light it felt.

The airplane is awesome and BVMProps.com are great to deal with too, so as far as I'm concerned this planes a winner!

I saw the Extreme Comp 540T put into a blender from about 1000ft at around 1/2 throttle (106cs i think) last weekend.
The thing stopped at god knows how many G's straight into a lovely inverted spin.
Nothing airframe related looked like breaking.
10 pilots near the flight line cringed & a couple of hundred spectators were wowed.

Oh yeah, it does the NICEST blenders. Really, any spin or tumble winds up very fast, a lot like a Cap.

What he said! Blenders are so easy and they look fantastic.

I am in too. I live in france and I have the xtreme edge too. I coudn't agree more with the other edge owners; I am a giant scale beginner and the edge flies light, flat spins are incredible!! I almost look as a good pilot. at this time I haven't found any flaws!!! I love mine! Don't think twice! go for it!

If you can get a plane any slower than the Edge, I'd be amazed, and if it drops a wing it'd be the first Edge ever to do it. This plane lets you get away with anything, it's an amazing airframe. This will be mine's 3rd year flying, I've flown a lot of other planes and sold them, I like the Edge the best.

I'm partway into my second year of flying the edge and what Eury said is true. This airplane will not drop a wing in a stall and is very forgiving. Landing is just fine, you just have to remember that this is a slick plane that will gain speed when reducing altitude on a final if you're not watching it. Best way to land is to do a nice long approach to bleed off speed, or if you don't have the room you can put it into a slip (which it does beautifully) and get it down without increasing airspeed too much. Its easy to land

I can vouch for what Chris is saying here. Normally I don't place much stock in what this hooligan and troublemaker says but I was also very impressed with the quality of his Edge - you could see many little improvements in design over the Comp-ARF Extra and it looks like it flies great as well.

I had the 2.6m Comp Arf 330L, and the planes were almost exactly the same size, they even sit about the same height off the ground.
