Will this DSM2 Spektrum modules for Futaba Tx work also with older transmitters such as Futaba FC-28? That Tx is using FP-TQ-FM module.

Will the SST modules available for the 72mHz radios work with the 35mHz radios we use in Europe?

The long servo leads on a giant scale can act as a receiver. I have an i4c isolator in my 33% to prevent these gliches. Does the spektrum system eliminate the need for servo isolation?

Minor point, but it would be more accurate to say that the long leads act like antennas, not recievers.

You are correct....I stand corrected. The guys that make the isolator can't be happy about the spektrum system I would guess.

I wouldn't just assume that the post with "Yes" in it was an answer to your question. Unless the Rx has some kind of optical or other separation between channels, like the PowerExpander and the like gadgets do, you can still have noise picked up by long servo leads transferred to other channels.

Yes, that is true, but the RF section of the Rx operates at 2.4 GHz, while most if not all of the noise that will be picked up by the long leads will be far below that frequency. Of course, I have seen really weird things happen before, so I am not going to say that opto isolators are not needed.

Its doubtful the harmonics produced by the interferring RF will be strong enough to cause any problems at 2.4g, but I, like toprudder, will not rule anything out...

So with the spektrum system is the risk so small of getting interference from servo leads that it would be o.k. to run without an isolator? It would be one less failure point and less weight and money. I just want to keep my airplane as simple as possible but still keep it safe. I think Wayne Geffon runs without any kind of isolator in his 40%'ers without any trouble. (correct me if i'm wrong Wayne)

Many people don't use additional equipment. I think the only sort of extra equipment that Wayne has in his planes is a Electro Dynamics FO Kill Switch.

Once my Spektrum system arrives, I still plan on using the i4c Isolator in my Carden. Ensures me still the peace of mind.
