Approaching critical AoA...

What I'm thinking of doing is this:
Sat: * 2 rounds of knowns (myabe a third depending on number of participants & time left) * 1 round of "short unknowns" (this is a separate competition from the IMAC contest - it will be scored, but will not affect IMAC contest results). Guys from the NE will remember my short unknowns from a few years ago. The sequence will be only 3 figures - a "killer" figure, a turnaround figure, and then the same "killer" figure again (so you're forced to fly it both ways). The sequences are written by class. Unlimited last time was a 4 roll rolling loop, a hammerhead, and the rolling loop again. Advanced was a four roll rolling circle; in, out, in, out. And so on. The sequence will be distributed to the pilots about 30 min prior to flying. * Foamy huckin' contest (by spotlight, if necessary!) Sun: * One round of unknown * One round of knowns * Freestyle Any other comments/suggestions welcome. Dave, make sure and practice up on your hammerheads! Pete

OK then, it's settled... Gentlemen. Stock up on AA's and start charging those Aero Aces - we have a contest. [I gotta super-secret upgrade that'll kick everybody's butts on the uplines]

Hey Pete: Glad you are in control. I've had several guys from area clubs asking about coming to the Re: Ashland VA IMAC ButcherFest- June 23 & 24.
What is the IMAC policy about that? Can they just observe? Can they fly after hours? Should they register? Oh, and also, I've lined up a very expert chef! He belongs to a Fredricksburg Club. Jerryu |

IMAC with an AERO ACE. That would be very interesting. I think the snaps would be kinda hard. LOL

Hey Jerry- IMAC has no rules about who can or can't attend. If you want to open it up to the public for spectating then that's perfectly OK. FWIW, I have never been to an IMAC contest where spectators weren't present.
This is shaping up to be a great event. Dave

Dumb question, do you have to enter or are spectators allowed? I have never seen a competition first hand. I don't get out much!

Just make sure you bring a friend! Every IMAC Competitions I have attended encourages spectators. And don't be shy, www.mini-iac.com down load the Basic sequence and enter the contest. Basic IMAC you can fly what you bring. Come one come all!!!!! Y'all. If you have anymore questions just ask them here and someone will chime in and provide all the answers. Giants Style!!!!
You got to love it! Kent Porter Kent Porter

Hey Kent P., the only way I'm gonna fly basic is if you will be my caller. You taught me a lot from the one sequence that you called for me. How'bout it? You up for it? ".......a little right rudder.......little more right rudder.......GET YOUR WINGS LEVEL!.............O.K. now pull a half loop............" LOL

Definitely the more, the merrier! Spectators more than welcome - typically the freestyle event on Sunday draws more "ooohs" and "aaahs" than the sequence work, but both are great to watch.
Flying in the contest is open to anyone - only condition is that you have to be an AMA member. Flying after hours is limited only to house rules (Jerry/Kent seem pretty flexible, as long as it's safe). Tell you what - we need you new basic guys to step up, so there'll be NO entry fee for FIRST TIME BASIC PILOTS. Do me a favor an pre-register at: http://www.letsflyrc.com/imac/contests.asp Thanks, Pete

Pete I like the first time contest no entry fee. That would be good for all contest to do that, I think the basic class would be a lot bigger and get more involved in imac.
