Hey, TrikeFlyer

Did you do anything special to come up with a RTF weight of 10lbs ?
I have the same plane with a OS 1.60FX, three MG standard servos in the tail and a 6V 1650mah battery and I am at 11lb 5oz.
Oh, I also installed a 1/4 GP sport pilot, that looks great.

Three post in a row by me, but I am interested in this motor.

Anyone using the GF26I-SP CNC version.
CNC milled case, angled plug, different ignition, etc.

The new GF26I has a little more power than the GW26I. Both are very reliable. I believe western hobbies has both in stock.

hi guys...

yeah its been a long time since i posted in here. had a lot of things in life that take priority over the model stuff. yes i still have my engine...it is as i left it...that being with it needing another carb to cylinder adaptor. the old one is at work actually waiting for me to machine up a new one.....but as life tends to do...i havent gotten to doing it as yet.

will post again when i have the adaptor made.

cheers

Hey, great video as always Mattboy! You Calif guys get all the good weather.

After rain, floods, tornados, 6 mph winds we are finally getting nice flying weather.

My epert 3D pilot friend is due back from Italy this week end so maybe I can finally get some video of the Laser flying with the 26 engine for you guys.

well.....

my engine is STILL where i left it. that being still bolted to my test stand, without its intake manifold and carb. i just haven't had a chance to get to it and continue testing/tuning.

i no longer have an airframe in which to test fly this engine. it has been returned to its owner after spending considerable time on my bench getting new servos fitted/ new fuel tank etc etc.

this airframe was to be the test rig for this engine.

i haven't stepped off the planet....its more a case of other things in life getting in the way lol

cheers

Sorry guys, all of a sudden work became all consuming. Got to make some beans to pay for this fun stuff ya know.

My Laser with this engine AUW is just under 10 Lbs. Unlike the guy with the 2 Stroke and heavy metal gear servos (I have some of them and they are real heavy) his Laser is over 11 Lbs with a 2 stroke.

This engine is real light for its size. Has a great power to weight ratio. Unfortunately my super 3D pilot that I was going to get to fly some 3D while I videoed has moved to another city. I have been trying to get in contact to have him come over and fly the Laser. I am not good enough to do all his great 3D stunts that would make a good video and show what this engine is capable of.

Check out the videos in the 2 earlier posts to see this engine 3D.

well i guess it dosent shake that much when bolted to a stinking steel i beam. try that test on a normal front end of a plane and ill bet that glass wont look like that. mount that motor on a plane and try the same test if i shake my da prop like that with the ign on my hand is going to the hospitial

what you dont realize is that these ignitions have an auto advance setup. if you dont retard the timing before you sttempt to start it....then as you say you WILL be off to the emergency department in a big hurry.

engine the likes of DA 3W etc have ignitions that auto advance AFTER to start them. how do i know this??....because i am one of the "test pilots".
