Trike,
I'm interested in one of the CDI's you are selling. Will these work for my SPE 26cc? Will I need to make any modifications? Deo |

D. Rodil the RCexl igniton is what BCMA sells with their modified SPE 26 engines
I have a BCMA 26 and a SPE 26 NIB if anyone wants them. They have same ignition I also have 2 BCMA 40's and a 48 Twin all NIB. Also an FPE 21 NIB but it has a different electronic ignition OS 70 4 stroke NIB and a used OS 70 Also have 2 Seagul Super Star and 1 Laser 200 NIB League Extra 330L, Will Hobby Yak 1.40, Balsa Nova 1.20 and Thunder Tiger Gile 202 1.40 all NIB PLEASE PM ME FOR PRICE so we don't get any panties in a wad again. I am not here to rain on any dealers parade. This hobby is getting to fragile for that with the Chinese starting to advertise direct here in US. Like I said earlier, I am liquidating ALL my gas & nitro stuff and going exclusively electric. I may later regret it because the one thing electrics don't have is that GREAT SOUND ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Best Regards to all - Trike |

I'm running a Hawk 18x6 wood, I think it may look like a Xoar. I got it from HiModel.com. Right now I'm in the process of switching the 4 cell Nicad pack I'm using on the ignition for a Dualsky regulated 1800 mAh 2S Lipo. The radio pack is already converted to Lipos. Lipos take a long, long tme to discharge and that gives me peace of mind.

I run a 6V 1650mah Nimh.
I tried two brand new 4.8V packs fully charged to 5.53V and when they get to 4.8V - 4.9V the motor starts to miss and quits. My 6V packs fully charged are @ 6.72V ( no load ) and 6.67V ( with a load ). The motor runs perfectly with that voltage. I wrote CRRC Pro and they told me ( We suggest users power the ignition with 4.8v battery packs . But the ignition can work normal between 4v - 7v. They seem to be many of you using 4.8V packs, but mine will only run till the voltage reaches 4.8V-4.9V ( about 20 minutes ). I am one that needs 6V to run. |

ahhh...good to see you guys STILL know how to stir the **** out of each other!!!.
just thought i'd drop a line in here seeing as i haven't posted here for soo long. as far as CDI ignitions are concerned i don't like them due to bad personal experience....its a glow plug only for me!!....(but big electrics are another interest too). i've moved house twice since my last post and recently uncovered/blew the dust off my 26 cc engine....still on the test stand. it still needs an intake manifold to replace the one that ended up with strippe out threads and was warped too. i will be making one out of alloy in the not too distant future...HOPEFULLY!! i have my eye on a few 120 size models here in the land down under. pity i want all 3 of them but the wife wont let me BUY all 3!!...guess we all know what thats like huh??. i'm a huge fan of the red bull air races and to this end i LOVE the extra 300 and its variants....will get back to you all when i get something suitable and ready to fly. cheers craig |

The CDI box that came with my engine does not say CRRC Pro at all on it. It's just an unmarked shinny plastic box that has a label on the back with a dating legend. Mine was dated at Jan 08.
As I posted earlier, I removed the jst connector between the sensor and the CDI because of faulty contact. It has worked fine ever since. The engine burned 1/2 gallon so far and it's a solid performer. I wish I could extract another 900 rpm after break in is done. I suspect that it could be leaned out a bit too as I haven't touched either needle. I could be happy with 8000 rpm with a 18X6 after all is said and done. |

The cylinder head is a g26 clone. I still think you could get another 400 to 500 rpm by going to a g26 carburator 15mm versus 9mm should allow the crankcase to get a better precharge of air/fuel mixture. I know this depends on port timing and duration. But I bet it will work. Bob

Bob, before I try something more radical as a carb replacement, i will see what kind of rpms I get after having burned at least 3 gallons. The 18x6 I'm using is great for 3D but I may need to try other options such as 17X8, even APC props.
I'm reluctant to start messing with the needles as the engine is preset at the factory and it works fine. |

Well, it took less than a gallon to seize my CRRC PRO 26. The piston ring got unseated and destroyed the engine. This thing is worthless. It's the last time I buy a Chinese engine. Next time I'll spend some more for a quality product from US or European manufacturers.

I don't know how a piston ring can become "unseated", but....Carburetors can't possibly be preset....If you HAD "messed" with the needles the engine might still run...
