That's the same thing I'd like to know - gap size for the NGK plug. I just put one in and the engine runs like crap with it. Put the torch back in and it runs nice.

I gapped mine to .020". It seems okay. I might open the gap slightly, but I usually won't exceed .025". I haven't measured the gap on the Torch plug, but it would make sense.

OK, lets all chime in here.
FLZman has been having problems with his GF26I.
I found out that his engine has a Walbro WT-745 on it.
I am having no trouble at all with mine and it is a screaming little engine.
Mine has a Walbro WT-793 on it.

Ken Crane what does your engine have?

Everyone, what carbs on on yours, and are you having any problems?

Alright, I'll chime in here...I admit it. I'm having trouble. Walbro WT-745

This engine broke my Showtime yesterday, and I will murder the thing if it continues to do so.

Mine has WT 716 stamped next to each other and 793 stamped below the WT. So I'm not sure what it is. My engine runs great but I can't get the rpm's that others are getting.

3d guy,

sorry about the showtime but thanks for chiming in. If I had flown mine the way it is acting with the 745 on it, mine would have been toast as well. Where did your engine come from? Not saying for sure it is the 745 but we spent a lot of time on this engine yesterday and couldn't find anything else to point to.

I ordered mine from rconlysite. I spent a lot of time tuning it also, but I can't pinpoint the issue. The plane is definately repairable, but it is just annoying. Before the CRRC, I had a BCMA in the Showtime, and that engine literally ran right out of the box.

Same place here. I was told I was the only one that ever had an issue with "all" the engines they sold, guess not. I can tune a gas motor fairly well but yesterday I had the luxury of having some serious tuners and they gave up on it after couple hours. Their best guess was carb but not set in stone.

Ray came up with a couple ideas that are worth trying. Nice and helpful guy and he didnt even sell me the engine.

Thanks

Could be the prop.
Every prop loads different, I have even had props of the same brand and same size give rpm readings of a 200 rpm differance.
Weather, sea level, etc. all come into play also.

Yea, I heard Ray was a nice guy. I had someone with a more experience help me with tuning, but we were stumped and then the plane went down. I was also told every 26 was running fine, and that adjusting the low needle would fix it.

Ideas?! Would you care to elaborate?

Absolutely, until we get these engines running correctly, we are in this together or until I make mine an endpiece on bookshelf.

Other then checking that pulse lines are matching up which I did yesterday and you probably have done:

Set both needles to 1.5 turns out
GO ahead and put 6 volts to ignition but not more then 6.3. I think I have a 6v regulator laying around.
Double check the conections on sensor and battery wires.
Although I use a T to fill with on all my gas engines with no problems, I am going to go ahead and take the T out of loop and have the feed line go straight to nipple.

(This part isnt from ray but me) - if none of above prove to help, ask for new carb, that is not a 745, which I probably won't get from dealer I bought it from since I am problem and not engine. So at this point it will be either purchase a new carb or chunk the engine, havent decided.

If ray relays any more ideas, I will pass them along.

Thanks Ken, really appreciate it. I am not one to easily give up but this has been going on for 3 flying weekends so I am starting to get a little discouraged. But I am here and my ears are open .
