Right on Joseae, I forgot the threadlock. Anyway I agree on the over primed and flooded condition, it has happened to me on one occasion.
Also if you want true TDC timing I would suggest you use a degree wheel to center up your pickup. A simple and quick way to check and set your timing is to insure your piston is TDC (top dead center), you can use a dowel or pencil to check and make sure it is TDC by rotating the shaft for the highest pistion position, you may have to rock the shaft back and forth to achieve this, once you get the piston in the correct position hold the shaft and check to make sure your pickup is directly over the top of the magnet. If not move the pickup and secure it with the 2 screws. If done correctly you have put your ignition at 0 degrees at TDC. If your engine is mounted inverted it is easy to see the magnet and pickup as they are located at about the 11:00 oclock position. The electronic ignition will do the rest.

I would just like to comment on my engines, I have said before I have 3 CRRC 26,s. I have one in my Ultra RC Katana Extreme (My Swamp Monster, another story) and it just keeps on getting better and better. I have a SY 16X8 prop and it has power to spare, I fly it at about 1/2 throttle and it uses about 6 to 8 oz's of gas per flight (I have a 24oz tank and have never ran it out of fuel with 3 other guys trying their hand at her too on the same flight). I started with a 25:1 gas/oil mix as per the manual. 1 tank on ground break in and the rest in the air flying for another 3 gallons. I continued with 32:1 with a 50/50 mix of regular Sthil 2 cycle oil and Sthil Ultra Synthetic. I have 2 Sthil chainsaws a 046 and 026 of which are over 10 years old and still run like a bear, that is the reason for my choice of oil.
Anyway I have put over 2 gallons of the mix thru it and it just keeps getting better and smoother, starts are instant, no hesitation, great transition and plenty of power, and the best part is I have not moved the adjustment screws from factory setting, yes I might get a few more RPM by leaning it up a bit, but my question would be, WHY! It performs fantastic. I have had numerous guy at the field comment on the easy starts and smooth sound and power.
I have a new 50cc on my Extra 260 and out of the box I got 6200 on a 22X8 with no break in time.
No engine is 100% and all have their little quirks. But I am 120% satisified with my CRRC Pros. For the price you get quality and a great running engine. And best of all I don't hear the DUH-DUH-DUH sounds like the DA's and I didn't put out half the money.
My opinion, my experience, I'm sold! I'm having fun and my CFO (wife) is also happy (well, is ok with it) on the price. She would have a cow if I shelled out 600.00 for the same size engine. I am a sport flyer, isn't fun what it's all supposed to be about?
Have fun!

I have a 26i sitting here and was thinking to put it in a profile/3d ship but can't seem to find one that fits the bill. I have also thought maybe a Hanger9 Frenzy? I pick the motor up at the field cheap enough but am not having much luck finding a plane to put it in. Everything seems to be sized to 50cc or glow .90 with very little for options in between. Am i missing something here??

Hey Bri 877 there are toms of ARF's with 68-72 wing span suited for the CRRC PRO 26.

If you want a cheap plane I have a Sea Gull Laser 200 for only $125 sea pictures of it earlier in this thread.

Ken, there are several pictures of the plane back towards the beginning of this thread. I will try to relocate the originals.

The plane is in Dallas, TX and I do not think it would be worth the cost to ship it do to the size of box required.

Anyone know where I can get a muffler similar to the SPE 26cc to fit my Crrc 26cc ?, The stock one and the pitts versions both interfere with the cowl on my East RC yak 54 and I don't want to cut a big hole just for the bump of the muffler body.

look into a muffler for a zenoah. if you trace the muffler outlet and fax it to bisson they can find one close. i have switched to bissons on my 50cc crrc motors as i have ruined all of the stock ones. they run just as well and required only minor carb adjustment.also their are a couple of companies making header pipes that connect into a canister type muffler as well.

You might think about a stick style platform, I have one in a CG 1.20 Wild Stick and it is tons of fun with the 26. H9 Also has a 1.20 size Ultra Stick that is very simular. I used the Wild Stick at our club funfly this last summer and did very well.

Good luck running an engine with the timing set at 0....
Don't stick anything in the exhaust port to stop the piston, you will almost surely put a dent in the piston or cylinder wall....
Get a 10mm bolt from the hardware store and screw it in the spark plug hole, or put some rope in the spark plug hole...
Almost all the Chinese ignitions are clones of C&H...28 to 30 BTDC is the correct setting...The ignition retards to about 4 BTDC aaaaaat the first flip, advances to 28 at 4000...

I bought a 50cc Edge 540 as a gift for someone and the only spare engine he had was one of these 26cc jobs. We bolted it on the engine is brand new and pulls this 50cc plane awsome. Its swinging a 17 x 8 prop.
