When you replaced the prop shaft and spindle, did you use the lock washer? Because that could cause some runout. Also make sure it's properly tuned.

The prophub and spindle are not the same as the old one where a lock washer was used.the new one has a taper in the hub and on the spindle where it fits into the hub.
Thanks, Andre.

I think I've got the tuning about right now on this one, check it out and tell me what you think. BTW this was a hot restart, engine had been off less than a minute, its still hard to start even after about 2 gallons of gas. I'm getting around 9,000 on the top end using an APC 17x6 prop.

YouTube- Checking throttle response GF26i
Seems okay. You never revved it all the way, so it's hard to tell. Mine was cranking an APC 17x6 @ 9100, so I'd say, you're about right on the top end...

What's your idle rpm btw?

It idles around 1900-2000, I've got good acceleration all the way, I didn't rev it any higher...by this time I figured the neighbors were probably getting tired of hearing it.

I had hit 9150 top end the day before, but I enriched the mixture slightly to keep it down to 9,000, I wanted to make sure I didn't get it too lean.

Starting might improve if the throttle is closed more.... IMHO

I tried that. These engines just suck at hand starting compared to others.

I've tried just about every throttle setting, not much of anything works except an electric starter. Priming helps more than anything else, to me it seems like it doesn't want to pump the gas till its actually started.

Rocking the prop back and fourth really fast helps.

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't lol. I just went to WalMart and bought one of those emergency car battery things to give my starter enough juice.

The last few months have been extremely wet, way above average rainfall and snowfall, when our field finally dries out I'm going to pick up a lawn & garden tractor battery to start my gas engine, the little battery I use for my glow engines just doesn't have enough juice for the larger engine. In the video my John Deere garden tractor is off to the side, my battery on wheels!
