Default which outrunner motor

I have a buddy that is lookin to put one of the two outrunner motors on his plane. its a p-47d thunderbolt from E-flight. here is a pic He is looking at the hacker 20-20l or the E-flight 400 Which one would best suit this plane. which one is better. Thanks for the inputs

They are claiming 21-26oz. If you can keep it around 22oz you'll love the A20-20L. Be sure to use a TP1320 Prolite battery for the battery to keep the weight down.

The Park 400 inrunner is a good setup also, but you'll need a Cobri gearbox.

Assuming you will not be doing 3d with it, choose the one that has higher kv rating. This will allow same 3cell pack to run the motor faster requiring diameter downsizing and and increase pitch for speed.

I would say look at axi 2808 series.

On warbirds, due to faster speed, you will be happier with 2000mah pack over 1320. you will not notice extra 2oz when flown at 1/2 or more as that is the case for most warbirds.

I would agree with red z06 on using the AXI 2208/34 with a larger battery. I have used that same setup on many Alpha Models warbirds and they fly great!!
