Hey ssllc902,
That's a good running engine. I have one in a 100" Comp-Arf Mustang and it does a great job. I am building a 118" Zero and would love to talk to you if you have this engine for sale.

Well I'm not sure what to do with it. I bought a 50% scratch build fixer upper and I dont think this engine is enough for a 50 pound plane. You can email me any questions. I still am not quite sure how much its worth.

i do not have anything close to this weight or size but imo it doesnt take a rocket scientist to know that with this motor it would have a power to weight ratio of a brick!

Unless the plane needs nose weight.

Thats why a lot of war birds use the heavier motors.
Its not because the builders are lazy or cheap (although that may be the case sometimes ) its because instead of adding 4lbs of lead to the snout of the plane they slap in useful metal.

And some of the Quadra motors can provide very nice scale flight for a scale plane and are very reliable.

You must remember that not all planes require a 14:1 thrust ratio... sometimes 1:1 is just fine.

ssllc902,
That engine is between $775 and $900 from Bennett Built Motors (http://www.bennettbuilt.com) when it was new depending on what accessories it came with. Check out that web site. They are not in production any more so the value depends on what someone is willing to pay. I would be interested in the motor for my Zero project if it is something that you want to sell. It would be good for a warbird but not worth much on an arobatic plane. E-mail me at crashman1432@gmail.com if you are interested in selling the motor.

For information on the Quadra 100 and 75, check on the website WWW.GSAL.ORG
It has a review on both the Quadra 100 and 75 XL. The reviews are a couple of years old, i.e. pre DA 100 days but very informative. I myself had a Quadra 100 XL in a Carden 35% Cap, it was hard-mounted, reasonably good power ( Menz 26-10 at 6,200) but the vibration was too much. Apparently a Hyde Mount is great, but adds about a pound and I am not sure you can still get one. You can get a muffler from Bisson muffler.
Cheers

I flew a Q100XL in a 35% Edge for several years, it had good power, great reliability with a CH ignition, and no more vibration than other singles. I'd highly recommend one.

it is worth $250.00 if it has a CD ignition...

if it has a magneto.... give it to someone you don't like
