Default 14MZ/Eccpm Desperate help needed.

I'm in desperate need of some help setting up the swash on my 14mz/Esky Belt CP. I know how to set up heli's but this 14mz is kicking the crap out of me. I could set up the swash's on my 9z in a few minutes. I've been fighting this thing all night long. No matter what swash type pick I can't get it to work.

Here's the basic problem. If I get the aileron/Pitch axis's movin in the correct direction, the elevator will be reversed. If I attempt to get the elevator moving the correct direction I end up with the pitch going the wrong way and the aileron moving the wrong direction. I've tried every thing I can think of and at this point I'm just fried. I know it's something very simple, but I just can't get it. Here's a picture of the head. Anyone with any 14mz knowledge please help.

So far I love the radio for the ease of airplane programming, but I'm pissed off beyond belief right now concerning the heli side of things.

Here's a picture of the screen where you choose the swash type.

JeeUm,
I remember having somewhat similar problems when I set up a CCPM swash with an 8103. I haven't done it with the 14MZ, but look for a way or screen to reverse direction on the swash plate functions, not in the servo functions themselves. I don'tknow if this is the answer, but that's how I solved it back then.

Thanks Jens, I'll look around. But to tell the truth I'm so frustrated I'm about ready to put this back in the box.

I assume it's the HN3 swash I should be choosing. But even when I choose the other H3 swash's I run into the same exact problem that I stated above.

I need to get back to covering and finishing my extra.

Keith if your board you can come and take these things and try to figure it out.

Well I got things moving in the right direction, not sure if I did it right but I had to go to the afr menu and make all the +100% movement into -100% movement. Then I still had to go back and reverse the aileron servo. I'm sure it's wrong and there's another way of doing it, but until I hear so that's how it's gonna stay. What a nightmare.

Ok, all my issues are coming from the 14 tonight. So far for heli programming I'm really not liking this thing. When I was setting up my planes I never even cracked the instruction book.

Here I am trying to set up this little heli and I'm getting my butt handed to me. I actually had to open the book to try and figure things out. Lots of use that is. I can't even figure out how to input individual points on the pitch curves.

I will say that setting up the normal, Idle1/2 was much easier then the 9z. Now if I can just figure out how to do the pitch and throttle curves I'll be set. I quit for tonight.

JeeUm, Not sure on the 14 but on the 12 you choose HR3 for swash type then goto servo reverse and change the direction to get it all working right. For me reversing pitch seemed to sort it out, took me a fair while to figure that out as well. Im pretty sure its the same in the 14

the problem I was having is if I adjusted the servo reverse of the elevator to get it moving correctly then the pitch wouldn't work right.

Thats what I had to do with my DX7. Everything on mine works fine now. I think thats the way yer supposed to do it. All the other programing that i did after that agreed with the ATV adjustments. No problems.

Wow I hate those frustrations! Glad that you figured it out. Sit back and take a breath. Go do something else for a bit then come back to it. If I get in those frustration levels and I dont leave my project, I'll end up putting my fist thru it or send it flying with no R/C! LMAO! Good luck and look forward to your flying review!

JeeUm also make sure you have the servo's plugged into the following CH's
CH1- Throttle
CH2- Rudder
CH3- Gyro
CH4- Aileron
CH5- Elevator
CH6- Pitch

You also may need to change the values in your pitch curves to negatives or positives to get it goin right

Jim,
What you did was exactly what I did back then in the dark ages. It doesn't matter if travel is set to be -100 to +100 or +100 to -100, as long as it works. Just realize it Jim, everything can't be as easy as pushing people out of a Caravan he he.

True dat.

I knew it was something simple I was just missing. Even though I had the swash working last night I could not figure out how to get into the separate points on the pitch curve menu.

A huge thanks to Animal Jesky for straightening me out on that. My dumb ass wasn't going into the correct screen for the pitch curves, once I chose the "line" curve instead of linear it was simple. I was just too frustrated to see it last night.

He also helped explain the swash menus and how they work. It's all very easy once you figure it out, but once again I'll say the instruction are nearly impossible to understand.

So now the heli is all setup except for the gyro which is still on the way.

Setting up Normal,Idle 1/2 is super easy on this compared to the 9Z.

I'm back in love with my radio once again,LOL. Thanks for the help guys.

I have a word document that will walk you through the set up of any heli. I have used it a couple of times and it really does help. If your interested I can send it by e-mail.
