What are you guys flying yours at? The manual states 6.5" and mine is wicked tail heavy at that position. Before I start moving stuff I'd like to know what the sweet spot is for this.

Just finished one up for my son and going to test fly on sunday. ours also was very tail heavy so we balanced dead center on the wing tube to start. I have heard this is a good starting place. What engine are you using? WE have the 3w 55I on his.

Here is what I did. At first I even had to use the spinner to get it to balance, later I removed the spinner and I liked it better,

Ok, got it to balance at 7" by moving the pack and putting the stock spinner back on it. Of course I still can't fly it now because the prop bolts that ZDZ uses are too short when using a vess prop w/ spinner. Only 1/8" protruding out the back. And to top it all off, one of them sheared off in the hub while tightening it (no, I didn't over tighten). The bolt material seems very weak.

Excuse me JeeUm, but I have a quick question. Are you sure you don't want to put any padding under that Fromeco Reg. I am concerned about vibration and reg failure. I have the same Reg, are you convident that they can handle vibration?

If you notice, he used grommets under the mounting screws to shock mount it.

Been wondering how somone turns into a Edge Hater? Is it through the love of a Yaks precision and tracking?

Your right, they can't handle it. I had one fail when I first started using them cause I hard mounted it after someone told me it was ok. Like Vic said, I use fuel tubing to isolate it and knock on wood it's been working fine in several airplanes now without a problem.

I had to do the same thing on mine. Ignition battery and reg on the engine box, Rx and Rx battery as close to the wing tube as I could get it. Used the spinner that came with it. Mine balances right at the back edge of the wing tube.
