When I had my first yak with a 50NG I had to mount everything as far forward as possible to get it to cg right. I had the batts and regs for both the RX and Ign mounted to the outside of the motor box.
with a CF spinner, prop , and main gear it was just a tad under 18# and cg at 6 3/4 it flew great, yes a little heavy, but that was one of the original TOC yaks.

Jeeum, I balanced mine on the tube, or slightly aft of it I think. Flew great at that position.

I'm at 7", so only 1/2" farther back then the 6.5" which is on the wingtube. I figure if I get some carbon tubes and push the motor another 1/4" forward I'll be good. But I'll still try it where it is now first.

Just gotta get some warm weather and the snow to melt. I've got the itch real bad to get some flying in.

Guys- This plane has a very wide CG range, I have read in the thread on RCU which by the way is the manual for this plane that some are going as far back as 7.5 to 7.75 on the CG with great results and no bad habits. So check it out.
