Default Bud Nosen 1/4 scale Piper Cub

Anyone out there have one? I just bought a kit that a guy bought new in 1978 and never put it together. The directions leave alot to be desired. I am getting it but it is gonna be a slowwwwwwwwww build.

Good luck on the build. I hope that you will be posting photos of the build. I have always had a soft spot for Cubs. (although many say my soft spot is between my ears... )

I purchased one at an auction that was already built. It needed some repair but I now have it ready to mount the engine. The plane alone weighs in at 12.5 pounds and I plan to mount a Zenoah 26e on it. Trying to figure out the mounting as if I mount the motor to the firewall, it is about 1.75 inches shorter than the cowl. Do I build a box of some kind or use standoffs? Do I need to beef up the firewall?

This Bud Nosen Cub was started in 1982, I got it on 2007 with most of the framing done. She is powered by an OS 90 2 stroke with a 15 x 6 prop, 108" Wingspan, 16 lbs, Futaba 3010's on all the controls, Pull - Pull Rudder setup, covered in Solartex Fabric (in my opinion better than coverite). I converted it to the L-4 Military version. She is modeled after the "Elizabeth" one of the first L-4 in action in WWII. She carries the 1942 "Invasion Colors" for operation Torch in North Africa. She was shot down by U.S. Naval Gunners (they were never told about the L-4's). Crash landed on the beach and the pilot survived. She also has a full scale cockpit, since the servo's and Rx are behind the back seat.

Yesterday I've bought a Bud Nosen 1/4 Scale Cub.That thing is HUGE.It wasn't in a great state. The whole modell was covered with Solartex.I've stripped the fuselage and discovererd that the half of the Solartex was still on it.So I had to grab my sanding machine and sand it all off.Going to restore the modell and cover it with Oracover.

Greetings.

Does anyone have the plans for the BD 1/4 scale cub? Where can I get them from. I crashed my model and need the plans so I would have proper alignment.

Thanks

I had a Nosen Piper Cub that I flew off and on for over 20 years with a Quadra 35 on it. It's a real fun airplane. Mine weighed in at about 18 lbs. You'll really enjoy flying this bird.
