Kinda disappointed a little that the sequence doesn't use FAI legal maneuvers but not that big a deal I guess..

We're it my way.. I'd run the ETOC as a full blown F3P contest with AeroMusicals score included in the final results..

I might be way out in left field here so excuse me if I 'm a bit off.

The ETOC has always been different and special and by no means your run of the mill indoor electric event. It has that sort of wow, what are they going to do next thing about it. Every years a new something going on.

If it was to come in under the F3P umbrella and run pro quo then it would just be another indoor event like the rest of them. I am sure F3P has a huge future and thats for a multitude of reasons, mainly the ability of the younger talent to get in at a relatively low cost. It has the potential to be a very large part of the hobby.

However the ETOC needs to keep its individuality, if not it will not be the showcase it has become. Out of the box is sometimes the motivator that drives the hobby. Thus it is to my mind great to see one show that maybe leads the way.

If you look back a good few years at the TOC and see what it done to the sport. That was out of the box and it has left a legacy for years and years to come after its demise.

Correct me if I'm Wrong...

On the Known ( Rev 1.0)

Figure 5 is a Figure "9" with 1/4 roll up - This will be a "cross box" figure - and should exit cross box.

It is drawn to exit on the "X" axis, and figure 6 starts on the "X" axis.

AM I reading it wrong?

Actually it is in the X axis. The loop portion of the figure 9 is a 3/4 Knife edge loop.

The figure exits on Knife edge.

The next figure the 2.5 vertical torque rolls enters on knife edge and exits cross box.

BTW, what exactly is 10, 11 and 12? 10 looks like a 2 KE loops... is it right? 11, spin or snap roll? 12, is it really 4 full rolls into half circle?

Figures 8 and 9 are rolling circles with the model flying cross box directly at the pilot. A One roll circle to the outside with a left roll is #8 and a one roll circle to the right and outside is the second circle in #9. This makes a rolling horizontal figure 8 that starts inverted and exits inverted. The rolls are fully integrated into the 360 turns (circles)

The model is then flying inverted directly at the pilot. Figure #10 It pushes to a vertical up line and performs a Knife Edge 8 with knife edge loops to the left and right. No specific order. The model exits this figure going up to the top of the "Box" and pushes to upright. Now the model is up high flying directly away from the pilot upright.

#11 Has changed slightly for various reasons The idea of this event is to pick the best pilot in a precision way not pick the one guy that do the figure and still have an airplane at the end. That is for Friday Night and the Freestyle portion of the event. The Change was to be posted in the last few days but I have not seen it yet. I changed the diagram but it is not up yet. Is a 2/4pt roll and model pulls to a vertical downline and performs a 1.25 rotations of a positive snap roll. NOTE: This snap has been changed to a 3/4 roll and not a snap.

#12 is a 4 roll to the outside 1/2 rolling circle. Another way to say it is a 4 roll 180degree turn to landing.

Essentially the figures 6-11 are all at show center directly in front of the pilot. This should provide a good look for the crowd and some challenging views for the pilots.

Hi Troy,
I like your challenging sequence
But it's a bit late to do such important change as the 1,25 positive snap!
I mean that I am sure I am not the only one to developped new Plane/wings and flight technique to be able to do it before training the all sequence...
Now, the plane is finally able but it's useless
Any way, I learn a lot trying that new challenge...

PS: a suggestion is to do the change like an option (1,25 +snap or 3/4 roll) , with different "K"

Ceiling height is a problem. If I had made the change to a more difficult maneuver, it could be an issue. Pilots simply didn't have room and were losing airplanes. I don't wish to see a contest of attrition. Therefore I made the change.

I had written the sequence without flying it in that arena. Now that it's being flown, I had to make those changes. My call. Rests squarley on my shoulders. Any comments should come straight to me. If anyone wishes to comment in a less public venue, please contact me directly at biff@flyinggiants.com. I would be happy to discuss the sequence.

Don't want to seem like I have attitude, I don't. Just want to make sure we're clear about the who and why.

Hi Biff,
I understand that. The goal is not to be happy because we avoid the crash one more time. May be can you try the "1.25 + vertical snap" again for the 2007 E-toc edition

man, now i have to make a stick plane that looks like a sypher lol. this is my favorite sequence ever! all of my favorite manuvers in one sequence this is gonan be fun. ooh especially knief edge loops and 1 roll rolling circles. man i am getting all excited lol. i need to go practice ti now. ryan
