Cheap Fun
While at the E-Fest I found these little EPP gliders. I got it home and converted it. So far I have just made a few tosses in the back yard. One night I had it out in 20 mph winds with no problems. I have to get this out to the hill next time the wind is right and I have the day off.

No spar. I just found the balance point before I started. Mounted everything as far forward as I could get it. Then re-balanced. The entire point to the cheap EPP is flexibility. This thing will just bounce.
Set up: 2 HS-55 rudder servo mounted just behind the wing, Elevator servo mounted under the main wing. Light ply horns. music wire rods. GWS 4 channel RX 150 mha ni-cad Had to add about 3/4 ounce to nose to balance.

i got to fly my alula today,, it 20 mph winds,, that was a trick, had to put 3 pennies in for balast to get forward flight, good flight times tho

with my luck the day after i bust the heli theres no wind... so i tossed the alula a bit, and guess what happens.. one control horn at the servo snaped,, and the carbon on but sides is well worn out.. i was able to land( not like crashing this bird is gonna hurt it haha) but it just figures....oh well howed your flying go today

My buddy also has one of the little foam gliders. He converted his into a powered version. He put a Medusa brushless on it. At about 75 feet today he caught a thermal, shut the motor off and sky-ed out on the thermal. All that on his first day it was in the air.

plane looks good wiz. and for your friend skying out the first day, dosent that figure
 man i havent gotten to fly sail in, i bet a month or more. crappy azz weather. but it allways clears up by monday

I put my 2-meter up a couple of times today but it was way to windy for any good thermals. I should have went to a hill with the little guy.
