Default Flying causes cancer????

This have been a long time question of mine and I haven't found any real good answers to it. It seems that many of the tools, hardware, fuel, servos ...etc that we use in the hobby come with a warning lable stating the product contains lead which can cause cancer and reproductive harm. With all the scientific advances in the world, why haven't they found a material that can replace lead in products we use? Ahh... Maybe I ate too many paint chips as a child..

Even Sex causes cancer - It is a fact that more people that have sex die from cancer than those who choose not to have sex.

Organic grown? Preservatives? Butter? Margarine? I'm going to go have a smoke while breathing in smog, and Hot Dog's for lunch.

As long as you get a Piper Cub and a fleet of warbirds before you turn 50, that is the secret to reversing the process and ensuring longevity Oh, and you have to hold a position of influence on your club executive.

I know this is all kinda funny, and cancer is nothing to laugh about. However, I have developed a hobby related illness, if you will. I have become extremely sensitive to CyanoAcrilate (CA) adheasives. Years of careless exposure has made my system highly vulnerable to the ONLY glue that does what CA can do.

I have been ill twice in the last two weeks, with only a momentary accedental exposure. Over the last two years, it has gradually grown to be worse and worse. I now get a severe case or rhinitis (Sinus cavities swelling completely shut, watery discharge and severe sneezing episodes ending in a bloody nose). This is acompanied by a killer headache, chapped/splitting lips and a nose peel that most women would pay dearly for. This sometimes ends up developing into Bronchitis from all the extreme sinus drainage. I know, sounds sick... tryng to make a point.

For all you modellers... if you don't want to give up using some of these essential materials/adheasives/products, follow the guidelines on the container, limit your exposure, ventalation, READ THE LABEL.

I HATE that I can't use CA any more. I fought it for a while, and cheated. Now my reaction is so severe the doctor warns me I could go into Anaphylactic Shock, better know as death if not treated with extreme emergency care.

Cheers and SAFE modelling my freinds!

Actually only a very small percentage of warning labels are a result of your tax dollars. Most warning labels are a direct result of frivolous law suits. Don't blame the Government on this one.....Blame the sue happy public. There are too many people out there that want a free ride. If they can find a way to get some money without working for it, they will do it.

This does not mean that all law suits are frivolous, there are some that are necessary. But when a lady can sue a restaurant, and win, because she slips and fall due to water on the floor when it was her own son that just spilled the water...there is something wrong.
