I did my math wrong.. its actually 3.8ozs....

Wingspan on the light one is 30", and of course, its one of the monoplanes....

My bipes weigh a more typical 5+ozs. I wanted to keep them under 5, but gave up a little weight for some better longevity and stiffness....

Nice thread Matchless, bunches of work go into this stuff for sure. I spend weeks farting around with setting up an indoor model for the E fest Friday fun contest we had.
You have your hands full for sure here. I am trying to figure out how to judge the darn thing and keep up! Not sure how that is going to work, maybe we will ask you to fly slower or do it a second time <LOL>. No blinking!
See you all there.

Thanks Will. I hoped someone would enjoy seeing some of this..... I don't remember seeing anyone put up a thread like this before....

I managed to finish all my airplanes today. Bipes are just over 5ozs, 2 of the monoplanes at just over 4ozs, and one mono at 3.8. Not bad for the time I have in them. They're all pretty doggone straight and the paint scheme is fairly striking...

Now back to practicing.....

And Matchless, really nice thread and I enjoyed reading and seeing how much work and time you guys really put into this. Makes me really want to keep hosting this event for years to come. Really nice job on explaining how you keep your life well balanced with time praticing and building and family. It's great to see that you enjoy the hobby and want to share with others. It's more then just foam pie plates anymore. See ya in Toledo and Good Luck

Tom, A big thanks to you for the invite and putting this great event on! I'd be lying if I said that I did not start dreaming of flying in this competition when I saw the first year. I watched the vids from it over and over again, and I thought "I'm going to fly in that event someday!"

And to all those watching the thread that are hoping to come watch, I can tell you that the organizers are really working to make this year's event more 'streamlined' than previous years and to ensure it is a good show. From what I've seen so far, I'm sure it will be. Get a ticket and come watch!
