Default Calling on you DA know alls....

ok i will try to explain this the best i can....

i have a DA-100 that has a bit of time on her (40 gallons or so) that is now running on 1 cyclinder. now here is the catch.... at the regulator im getting 5.9 volts on the meter, chked that. next i move to the ign. mod. and they are both producing spark. now when i go to start up, 1 cylinder is running, one side is hot and one is cold, having some 2 stroke back ground, its to my under standing that these motors have reeds, if this is true, is it possible to float a valve pedal? meaning either breaking a pedal tip or completly breaking the whole thing? if this happens it usually give the same signs. does anyone have any clues as to what could be causing this issue??

I'm thinking ignition. Switch the plug wires to opposite sides and see if the problem follows the plug wire.

We just had a da-150 do the same thing, the ignition wasnt bad but the little wire inside the plug cap got moved over and wasnt making contact with the plug.

I'd just send the igntion in on Monday by Priority mail. You'd probably have it back by the end of the week if you put a rush on it.

Do the DA's come with a spring in the cap? A buddy was having this problem yesterday. Looking inside the caps you just see a tiny wire.

ok i just went into the shop and took a look at the caps under the light, and it looks like a mangled piece of wire, and this is on both sides. my DA-50 wasnt like this, i looked like it had a spring with a flat bar in it so that when you put the cap on it would snap on..... hummmmmm what do ya'll think??
