Default Midwest 80" Citabria Kit Build--Wanna See It?

Just wondering if you guys want to see me build the Midwest 80" Citabria from a kit.

I plan to use a weedie conversion engine. Probably something like an 18cc--21cc Featherlite converted to gas/glow hybrid fuel mix and a glow plug.

I've built several Midwest kits. I usually end up replacing some of the wood and hogging out some of the former to lighten them up a bit.

Thanks

Well, it seems like there is not that many threads to discuss this wonderful flying "Kit - Model" and I have acquired one back 4 years ago and been flying mine for 3 years. Believe it or not, I was able to fly this large lady with a ASTRO FLIGHT 60 BRUSHED motor using 9S2P, Li-POLYs and it flew great! However, swinging the APC Pattern 15 X 8 heated those brushes up very much and decided to to Brushless Outrunner about 2 years ago and never looked back and made her lighter as all it needs is 6S Li-POLYs

Here's one Video showing the Brushless powered setup taken about one year ago.

Well guys,

I am finally retrofitting a Spektrum AR500 into my beloved Large Lady (MidWest Citabria)! Last time I was at my RC Club, I had a very ugly Lock Out with a Castle Creations BERG 7-Channel (Saturday, June 20th) that my Park Zone F4U Corsair Park Flyer has and up to then, it has flown ROCK SOLID but, for some reason at a little after 8:30am on that Saturday I observed the Park Flyer model to not respond and was reacting very strangely. I was able to get it down pretty much in one piece except a rip out fixed main landing gear and rear wing plastic attachment retainer FUSE side. All repairs have been completed with very good success.

I gave it a good and Long thought to decided that even though my MidWest Citabria has a different (Hitec Electron-6) dual conversion 72Mhz FM receiver, I am not going to risk anything to happen to my large lady so, I broke down and purchased several AR500 receivers and one of them will be installed within the Citabria!
