Default Do You Use Dual Rates on Rudder?

I'm curious as to how many people use dual rates on rudder. I did some flying with Todd Blose recently and he didn't have dual rates on his Aeroworks 260/Kroma 50 set up, but had them on ailerons and elevator.

The reason why I ask is that I'm thinking about doing away with dual rate rudder on my WH CAP. I was planning on copying my programs in my radio and altering the rates for IMAC. That way, I'd have a program for 3D flying and one for IMAC. It's easy to do with todays computer radios.

i personaly dont use dual on the rudder. i do use expo though. i use dual on ailerons and elevator only and i use the same expo on both rates, high and low so the plane feels the same weather on high rates or low rates. i hardly ever use low on the ailerons, but am switching back and forth with the elevator depending on the manuver at the time..

In IMAC I use dual rates on rudder. One example is to do a full roll, a few other maneuvers, then a hammer head. I cant make a clean hammerhead without high rates and it is more difficult to fly the whole sequence on high rates than low. To each his own. What ever makes you look and feel good, go for it. For me its D/R on rudder.

My D/R is used , from low to hight there is not much change in the throw but there is a huge diff in the expo . The expo diff is used to adjust how fast and hard I want the rudder to come in eg high is for pos snap , mid is for hammer & neg snap and low is for general flying .

I tried using max throws with 80% expo and the rudder felt to soft for general flying and small wind corrections . Leaning on the rudder had little to no effect .

I can never have enough rudder. It is on dual rate in case. With that being said I have never taken it off of max throw. Every other control surface is on dual rates and expo

I fly the sequence on the lowest rudder that will hold knife edge, and have a triple rate actually.

For snaps in windy conditions, I will use med rudder
For stall turns or spins will crank up to high rudder.

I have never been able to get used to high rudder all the time.

I am the same as most guys. Low rate for point rolls and high rate for hammerheads.

The reason why I'm asking is because I just bought a JR 9303 back in October before the DX7 hit. I really like the features of the 9303, but because of interference issues, I really need a Spektrum radio. I'd also rather have everything combined into one radio than buying a module to convert the 9303. I guess since I want to start flying IMAC, it might be beneficial to be able to individually switch from high to low rates and vise versa if each surface had it's own individual switch. I have them all on a three position switch with my 9303, but for 3D flying, I could leave the rudder on high rates all the time without problems.

I use dual rates on the rudder. High rate all the time for 3D stuff. I use low for precision, but go to high for hammer-heads and a few other manuevers as well. I definetly like a softer rudder for my precision flying. On high rate with max throw, I use very little expo believe it or not, and I actually use more expo on my low rate to keep it soft.

I use dual rate on my rudder. I try to fly 3D and am learning the rilling Harrier that TANK & Rolling harrier, and Elie have mastered...But I use dual rate's on a 3 setting switch. I can have FULL rudder On Knife edges and rolling maneuvers. I can cut it if it too much...I tend to want to slam the sticks over and am practicing to get out of that and have a gentle touch lately...Well since the last time I got to fly! So I think it is good to have them if you need more rudder!
