Default Unbelievable Airshow Weekend

Well I am coming off a fun and great airshow weekend. I know you guys are going to kill me because both days I forgot to bring my camera. I worried more about my planes than the camera. Every year here in Columbus, GA we have our annual "Thunder in the Valley" airshow. Fortunately I get to go and help out my really good friend Ryan Evans with doing demos. He gets invited to several airshows around the GA area and does a spectacular job. He is a former Masters pilot, awesome 3D pilot and UAV instructor down in Pensacola. Gary Ward, MX2 full scale aerobatic pilot, was also there and Fred Cabanas and his Pitts were there. Ryan knows Gary very well so the whole weekend was spent with these awesome individuals. If you havent seen Gary fly you are missing an awesom show. His new MX2 is a sight to see. The paint job on this plane is just awesome. The colors are bright and the plane is visible in every light possible in the sky. Fred Cabanas is Garys best friend who got Gary started into the aerobatic world. I do have to say Freddy is one crazy and funny guy. This guy had us rolling in laughter the whole weekend. I tell you what, these aerobatic pilots have the life. I wish I was super rich and got to do half the stuff they do. The stories they tell are just crazy and fun to listen to even if they were a little crazy. Each morning we would get together have a nice breakfast in the hanger where Gary and Fred housed there planes and then rolled them out to the flight line for fuel and smoke oil. This was my first time really getting involved with the full scale stuff and helping out and telling stories with these guys. It was a lot of fun. Ryan and I have been attending the show for several years now but this was the first time we really got involved with the story telling and fun. After all said and done Fred invited us down to his place in the Florida Keys to do whatever we want. Hmmmmmm, he owns two full scale Pitts, Gary has his MX2, Ryan has his full on pilots liscense, do you see where this is going. That would truely an awesome weekend. We started talking about it right after the show. Hopefully we can all get it coordinated out. We'll see. Sorry I didnt get any pictures but it was a fun weekend.
