Default Unregistering From an IMAC Contest

There's been issues with the CD's responsibilities that are created by pilots anticipating attending a contest, but due to other circumstances, can't attend.

Thanks to Victor Rice, a nationwide program is available for IMAC contest pre-registration.
http://www.letsflyrc.com/imac/contests.asp

Within the program, it gives an individual the chance to edit their personal information after input of the initial information i.e. a change in frequency.

Here's an idea that may help. I just went into the North Las Vegas contest, found my name and clicked on edit. In the name field, I left my name remaining but added in capital letters, "NOT ABLE TO ATTEND", then clicked on save.

Now the list is still there with my name on it, letting the CD or other pilots know I won't be attending. By leaving your name there, it gives everyone the opportunity to see exactly who initially signed up but is now not attending the contest. If you just erased your name, etc. the CD would probably have to compare it to another previous lists to see exactly which pilot was there originally, but now is not.

I'm not sure if this is the "best" way to get the objective accomplished, but it would do for now. Whatta ya think?

I think you better put "ABLE to ATTEND" back in there!

The CD who enters the contests gets individual e-mails when somebody registers. I as a CD print these e-mails and enter them into the scoring program just before the contest. The simplist way would be if the CD gets a un-register e-mail.

The program is awsome, It allows the CD's to enter the pilots info, make their freq cards, etc before the contest. This saves 30 min to 1 hour on Satyrday morning of a contest.

DD---that is exactly what I am going to do.

An email for unregistering would help, but I planned to print the list out last minute anyway also so that would help also.

Things just get easier.....I got an update on the scoring program also that enables my POS laptop to run it. So now I have a back plan to use the new software.

In Albuquerque (a 33 pilot contest last year) we just opted to wait and see who showed. I would say, unless you are planning on capping the number of pilots it's really a non-issue. However, I agree it is nice to have an idea how many you will have. Just my .02

Yes.....running the Dave S program.....he was nice enough to make some updates to it so it would work on my old laptop.

I'll be pre-entering names in the computer and checking them off as they show most likely.
