Yes it is ( CRRC Pro GP50R )
I only got to try one prop for rpm numbers today.
32 oz. of fuel through new engine.
40:1 Pennzoil aircooled.
JFX 23 X 8
A stock DL-100 muffler ( engine comes with a CRRC pitts muffler ).
6930 rpm with 32 oz. of fuel run on a new engine.

Hi,

Today I run my DA 170 for the 1st time.....

RE3 tuned pipe whit 12 inch custom headers (to fit my ultimate) around 1/2 inch between headers and pipe.
32-1 penninzoil air cooled , needles on factory position
Vess 32-A
typical winter weather (mid 60's)

Very easy start (like a already used gas engine)
Then around 50 oz at low rpm (2000 2500) to verify that the headers and tuned pipes suppost works well..
Then few minutes to cool down (wasnt very warm anyway) and on the next tank just a quick shot (few second..) to the "high side" of the trottlle to verify how good this engine can run..
IT RUN VERY WELL!! 6200 on the tachometer....very impressive.
P.S. idle nice and low (around 1200)

Well Done Desert Aircraft.

Well here is an update, for some reason I am now getting 65-6600 RPM all warmed up which is a thrust difference of 27 - 28 LBS as compared to 31 LBS at 7000 RPM. My header lenght is 12 1/4 inch per Ed at ES composites. I did f-with my high end so maybe it is to lean. Also I tightened my carb bolts to make sure there was no air leak. I will report back after further tuning hopefully I can get back to 7K

Sure, I would use a different prop though, then put it in a plane and fly it already

Aerrow 200 twin, WB39 carb on a custom reed manifold, RC EXL ignition, 10% glow fuel...
Special bolly 34-10 prop, 7000 rpm..Idles at 900...No mufflers, just 12 inch headers...We're making some adapters for KS 1090s....Starts easily with a flip..I'll be making it a twin spark with CM6 sparkplugs later...

Ralph,
please update when you get the pipes on. I would suggest you try the MTW TP3 pipes as well (finance permitting). They have inverse horn factors that seem to broaden the torque range very much.
