Yeah, that's a cool unit. Ron Nesler at www.southeastrcengines.com sent me one last week to try out. Great tool for testing.

The wood dowels in the prop are to hold it in place while the epoxy sets during the manufacturing. Drill where your prop sets up best for engine start and don't worry about the dowels.

Hey Al, I have left the engine tach in and been flying with it. No problems to date. I just made sure I secured all connections in the Y harness.

Here is another rpm reading with the inline tach.

Torch 90 on AMT pipe. Royal purple at 85-1 regular gas. Sea level (+10 ft) 75 degrees F.

JC Super Prop 24x10x3 Narrow

6520 rpm.

PS Anybody going to Atlanta Huckfest want to see the new tach I have it installed in two planes and will have a box full to sell at show price...

By the way, I had to optimize the high end needle nearly a half turn to get these readings. Previously using JC Super Prop 27x8 two blade at 7100 rpm.

The 23A at 7800 especially. Rpm sound a lot lower to me.
The 22A at 8400 in the dive yes, but static will probably be a tad less.

My tests were static. RPM's might be expected to be lower when dragging an airplane straight up-line Maybe the two different tachs used were defective..... No matter, the plane is gone with the custom header and cf pipe....motor is in garage waiting for a future project.

That rpm with the mezjlic 28x10 is way higher than others is that with a tuned pipe?

is that a stock motor reading or has it been tweaked alittle? that motor is really spinning with that prop.

I agree, tuned pipe is only possible way to get 7100 rpm out of an 100'er engine with that prop.
