Default Help with graghics card.

I have a HP Pivilion a815n Pentium 4 CPU 3.06GHz, 1 GB ram. I bought the Aerofly Pro Deluxe sim and a ATI Radeon 9250 graphics card. I have no problems physically installing the card, but I can't get it to work. There is a built in graphics card in the system if that helps.

Thanks in advance, Tim

intall the card, get into the BIOS, you have to disable the built in Video in the Bios for the new one to work.. download the most recent driver from the ATI.com

Go to the HP.com website and find your computer. There will be instructions on what to do to install a second video card. I did mine a while back and the instructions where great.

OK, I downloaded what ATI said was the lastest driver for my card. I installed the card and started the computer. The new card was displayed in the hardware device manager, it was enabled. I ran the downloaded drivers file, I got the Catalyst control center, not sure about the drivers. I disable the internal graphics chip set and rebooted the computer. The monitor stayed black , I could hear windows loading. Is there any way I can check to see if I did load the driver. I tried using the dics that came with the card but had the same results. It does'nt seem like I'm installing the driver for what ever reason.

Thanks for all your help so far, Tim

Checked the Add/Remove programs and found that the ATI display driver is there.
I'm going to check the HP website and see if it's any help.

with or without the driver it will work in 2D stuff, it will use the default vga adaptor driver that windows defaults to when the card is unknown.. make sure you plug the card in all the way sometimes its tough to do.. also make sure to plug the extra power cord into the card if needed
