Default New Release Da16v

Guys could not resist this one.
I am sure this page will get the most hits for a few days to come.
Heres some details and some questions.

16 cylinder 1800 hp with 6350 ft-lb torque at 1800 rpm.
Fuel burn 80 gallons per hour
Weight approx 16,000 lbs.

Ok heres the questions.

Tony (Wood is Good) do you think a ply firewall with balsa gussets will hold it ok? How do you suggest I cowl the puppy for best cooling?

Robert, of VESS prop fame. What size prop do you recommend please?

Jeeum. What oil mix mate. Any good tips on how to get the max out of this thing?

Beavis. How many rolls per second could you get with this planted on a Dalton 260?

Chopped-Low. If it wont fit in my next plane how do you think it will go in that old Knuckle Head you want to restore or chop?

Hey guys.

The old guy with the beer belly is my Dad. Tells me there is no debt owing on the belly, fully paid for and up to date. The guy in the dark blue shirt was a passer by, ring in.

The old bugger is 6ft 5inches according to my metric tape so that gives you an idea of size. Height that is, not around the girth. Didnt know they could stack it that high without it spilling over.

He tells me that engine is out of a Caterpillar 994 Loader. Machine weighs close to 200 ton dry. He says each one of those out the door is food on the plate for us. And if were lucky a heli or something to play with on the weekend.
Still waiting on my heli to arrive however, trust the old guy forgot about it.

Banks old mate.

I was probably cursing the guy with my camera because he could not find the button to push. I went through lock jaw forcing the smile then the turd found it just in time b4 I was off to kick his butt.

Still waiting on the prop size.
