I had a little mishap with my Funtana100X last week. Lets just say i learned how to do a
flat-spin landing! So yes, my carbon fiber main gear has a decent crack right at the bend. It is still holding together, but anymore stress may crack it in half. I was told that the stock CF gear is out of stock from horizon wich puts me in a pickle! I need to get this plane back in the air, so does anyone know where i can find maybe something aftermarket, or anyone have an extra stock landing gear layin around? Oh yes, and the tail wheel as well...Ya know, the ol' wire in the rudder deal.... well it ripped out, so I need something of a strong, lightweight bracket or something. If any one can help that would be great! Thanks! |

what I did for my F90 was just let the tailwheel turn freely (no connection to the rudder). Works great, just taxi on high rates. For the landing gear, I dont have my stock, only the CF. Try pushing yours together as hard as you can and soak it with thin CA. Worked great for me on other Carbon gear.

Did you check www.graphtechrc.com? They make one, not sure if it is in stock but probably is.

OUCH! 50 bucks for the graphtech one...Is there a way to maybe wrap some fiberglass cloth
around the break and soak it in epoxy? i wonder if that might work? |

You can flood the crack with some CA and then wrap the crack with thread tightly, and then soak the thread down with CA, That should hold until you can get a replacement

yes I too have squatted the Funtana landing gear - BUT now that I have reinforced the landing gear mount a bit with some 3/8" X 3/8" hardwood and I invested in the Graphtech landing gear. I talked to the graphtech folks and it seems that Hanger 9 designed like this intentionally. This is a weak point in the design. Beleive me its well worth the 50 bucks - Look lets face it the Funtana just begs to be harriered its so darn stable with the SFG's on - its a blast - geeze you can get away with murder and the airplane will come clean. Today I did a an elevator from about 200 feet dropped it in over the runway and carved right harrier turn and then a left harrierturn - took it over past the runway and carved it left (all thsi in harrier) back to a landing right in front the pilots station - folks there are not a lot planes that can do that!!!! Its a truckload of fun!!!! It was easy!!! no wing rocking!!!

NICE!!! Anybody used the fiber-lite yet? Looks pretty darn decent. Thats only about 10 bucks
more than the stock gear and it ads 1 and 1/4" of prop clearance! Ronster, Thats awesome! I LOVE harriers with mine! It does have a bit of wing rock without the SFG's, but with them its incredible! My Funtana does inverted elevators just BEAUTIFULY!! |

Mine actually flat spins much better without the SFGs. Did you have any problems getting your CG
far enough back? I had to move my fuel tank back against the wing tube and move a bunch of other stuff back to get the CG pushed back enough. Now it flies MUCH better! |

cg came out where they said. i had to place a sub c pack behind the receiver at the rear of the wing. i can put a bigger tail wheel setup and try that. or lead in the tail but it will then go tail heavy. no problem though. my f90 was tail heavy and it wouldnt flat spin either. i dont have any problems on other planes as far as flat spins go.

What is the exact location of the CG on your X100 then? I'm going to buy one tomorrow...
