Hi All
I posted a question on this about 1/2 hr to midnight & was anxious to see the replies this morning on Flying Cirkus - doh!!! Anyways - I'm really hoping to get a 50cc aerobat going this spring. The BME Edge 540 with BME 50cc motor combo has been looking good to me. Anyone out there flying it (the V2 one hopefully)? I'd also love to hear what other choices would make an awesome 50cc sized 3D machine. If I don't do the BME combo, it will probably be the DA 50. Seems like all the 50cc choices are within about $50 of each other. Thanks Terry Peterson Elk Horn, IA Happy New Year!!!!! |

I'v seen the BME Edge I fly and it's a little heavier than the BME Edge II, and it's off the wall!!!
The DA-50 Rips that plane around the sky like a foamy, and talk about smooth no wing-rock harriers! Not too mention the BME Edge II is lighter, therefore in theory should fly better. The only difference is that the BME Edge I is sheeted The BME Edge II is built up. -Taylor-

Hi Rappyman,
My son fly's the foam sheeted version with the DA 50 and a 23x8 mejlik and it is incredible how well it fly's as cajun put it some what,How ever in reality the version two is about a pound lighter as advised by a friend up north told me because he has the same exact setup as my sons.personally with the DA50 I don't think it actually even notices it,The one lbs difference. Good luck to ya my friend. |

Yo Gforce, I wasn't puttin down the version 1 edge. It's awsome, I was just noting the differences.
So when do you think you'll be ever to scoot down here and come fly again?

Wow - thanks for all the info on how well it flies. How well does the BME 50 stack up to the DA? Is the weight, hp and "niceness" of the motor similar??? There's a decent discount for the combo deal, so I'm curious on opinions of DA forever, or the BME will rock.
What other ARF's are out there at about the same price & great flying planes? How complete is the hardware in these? Do you just add motor, RX, batts & servos and fly... or is there more needed & how much does that usually add up to? Thanks again for the help! Anyone in the IA, NE area have one - I'd love to see it in action |

I have a BME 50 and there are 2 others at our field. All of them are VERY good reliable motors that make good power. I think the DA is a "little" stronger, but the BME is solid in every way. The weight is about the same, with maybe the DA an ounce or two lighter, depending on how you mount the BME. Good luck, and don't be afraid of the BME 50.
I also used to own a BME Edge. Mine had a Brison 3.2 on it. Very good, solid flying plane. There used to be a video on BME's website of mine flying. You will like that combo.

I've downloaded the video from the BME website - looked windy there! I'm liking the plane & motor, but wanted to hear from others on if it was good & what other planes are just as good for the money. What weak points are there on the BME Edge?
Thanks Terry |

Man that looked like a heck of a blender near the end of the video - how many will the airframe take? How's the rudder authority?
