Just wondering if it's normal for these servos to have a bit of a grind in the gears when you hand turn them slowly.
Bit like gggrrrrrrrrrgggrrrrrrrrrrgggrrrrrrrr as if there is a part of one of the teeth sets that is meshing a bit harshly. |

I call the sound, "Crunchy".
All 5 of my new 5955s do it too... Only have 18 flights on the airframe now, but they're working great so far. (knocks on wood). |

Thanks dudes,
Good to know that it's just a feature! Otherwise, these servos have some serious attitude. Yeah baby. |

I've seen a single 5955 power a aileron on a 35% bird by itself for well over a hundred flights. When they were removed because of selling the airframe....they were as smooth and tight as the day they went in. There is no doubt these servos are top notch. And yes....mine all make the grindy noise as well.

Mine too. I was unerved too. But, they work grrrrrreeeaaaatt! I have 17 of them now.
I did have one with tight spots in the gears though... when I ran it will a current meter in line there were significant spikes in the current. Replaced under warranty.
