Will the replacement module system for my 9C require me to remove the existing antenna?
Thanks... Dave |

Here's a Photoshop job I found on another site. Shows what the 14MZ module might look like. Seems like it will be fine in a tray.

Hi, Dave-
The TM-series modules will not utilize the existing antennas. All RF will be transmitted through the built-in antenna on the module. Mark

Mark,
Thanks for the quick answer. I should've asked the question a little differently. Will the existing telescopic antenna in my 9C cause any problems if left in place and collapsed with the TM's transmission? Any shading or weird RF/range issues in this configuration? I've got a bunch of 72mhz Rx's and this would make it easier to flip flop between them. Just pop out the TM 2.4 module and pop in my 72mhz synth module and go fly. That would be cool.... Thanks again... Dave |

Thanks |

Okay, I actually have a few questions, more cosmetic.
1. The 14MZ is a very advanced transmitter where traditionally 72mhz channel selection is accomplished through touchscreen inputs. With the SS module in place, does this interaction change in any way? Meaning, is the transmitter smart enough to know that a SS module is plugged in? If so, does binding take place through the touch screen? 2. The F/S label on the back of the module. Failsafe? Or is it the binding button? Thanks Mark!

Hi, Dave-
We're going to suggest that modelers remove the antenna from the system when using the FASST systems. While it's unlikely that it will cause any problems, it's not utilized when the FASST module is in place. Plus, it only takes a few seconds to re-attach the antenna when you want to utilize your existing 72 MHz equipment. Mark

I only got a few minutes with Frank today, but he said yes. I asked if it was field tested, yes, no problems.
Best wishes. Will B.

Why are both these 2 logos on the new tranny at same time, the wireless frequency select one (WFSS) and the spectrum one (FASST), how can you wireless select a frequency on spectrum.

Futaba wants to give you the opportunity to be able to go back and forth between having 72mhz freq's and also the 2.4 FASST system. Therefore the logos. In answer to your question, you can't change frequencies with the FASST system when in operation.
