My wild guess is that "8-channel" and "14 channel" setting are the same thing.
Imagine the confusion, if people with module for 9Z would be faced with "14 channel" setting on the module - so they just labeled it "8 channel" ![]() P.

I'm I the only one that is tired of Futaba's lack of info???
They have been talking about price info since their announcement was made. I just really want to know price and availability so I can decide which team to go with! Magoo

Spectrum explicitly states that modules are slower than dedicated systems, because the PPM stream has to be converted to 2.4Ghz. In a dedicated Spectrum system, there is no PPM stream and hence no conversion is needed. My guess is that the same goes for G3. Since alot of people talk like they are expert, I will allow myselft the same liberty.... From logic conclusion: If the sampling and processing frequency is faster than the PPM stream, then the PPM stream will be the limiting factor in a 2.4Ghz module system using PPM for communication. If the above is the case, I just want to know if Futaba is giving us the advantage of bypassing the PPM stream when we use genuine Futaba modules. If this is not the case, then I would appreciate another explanation.

Latest info I've seen, just tonight on the Tower web site?
I'm pretty disappointed their not coming out sooner! 7-Channel Spread Spectrum In stock: Late Spring 8-Channel Spread Spectrum In stock: Early Summer 14-Channel Spread Spectrum In stock: Early Summer And still no idea on pricing. I've been trying to be open minded about this but it does seem like a 'game' to me. How about one of our guests from Futaba showing us a little light at the end of the tunnel with some updated information. BP |

Hi!
I was just relayed this message via PM on RCG: Krysta Hunt wrote: Hi Guys, Once again, I am sorry for not finding enough time in the day to get all of these questions answered. Bax and I only do this in our "spare" time and appreciate your patience with us. To answer your question, yes, the R606FS will work with the upcoming 2.4GHz modules, and the 12FG. I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support team at 217-398-8970 opt 2, or via fax at 217-398-7721. Sincerely, Krysta Hunt Product Development & Support Specialist Futaba Service Center USA For me, this is good news. Furthermore, this information implies that the channel setting on the module refers to the incoming PPM channels, and has hence only to be done once. I also read about the possible pricing of the 8ch module at a german forum: The module is about 110Euro, that would be ~150$ Cheers, Julez |

One thing that answers alot of questions, is the configuration of the FG antenna. I see it is on the module like the 12Z and 14MZ will be.
Those earlier photos must have been photo chops.

Yes, they were. The FG will use a module the same as the 12Z and 14MZ. You will be able to go between 2.4 and any other legal band in your country by way of a simple module swap.
I like the idea of not having to buy a boatload of new receivers as I change over to SS.

So what's the difference between the 12Z and the 12FG then? Is the 12Z a higher end radio? Why should I buy a 12FG?
