RTK,
If your prepared to wait long enough then I'm sure there will be a 16 channel system with air horns, chrome fenders etc available. Its just a matter of demand. However in all seriousness when I spoke with Frank Noll about the 2.4 Ghz FASST systems he made it abundantly clear that FUTABA logic is to go with the module based system as opposed to purpose built systems from the ground up. The plain and simple reason for that, and they had the choice, was to allow people with the currently available hardware to upgrade. It did not create the need to sell and buy. I'm not a betting man, ever, but to me the only advantage to anyone wanting to buy a new setup today is what module you want. Reason being today if you buy a 14MZ your going to get it with a 72, 50, or 35Mhz module and Rx in the box. If you wait I bet you will have the added choice of 2.4 Ghz. I suspect very similar pricing. All that means is you wont need to shell out $ for another Tx module and Rx. As for the price enquirers in this forum I don't think we need to be Rhodes Scholars to see that a new 2.4Ghz 14 channel Rx is going to cost about if not exactly the same as a current 5114DPS Rx. I just don't see Futaba releasing 14 channel Rx's for $129 when a 72Mhz unit is $325. Tx units are likely going to be in same range as a current 14 channel Tx module, maybe slightly more expensive given the antenna bits and pieces. So if I'm in my betting mood I would expect the pricing of a 2.4 Ghz Tx and Rx to be in the $500 range. I hope that I am wrong. If the 2.4 equipment comes to the market at competitive prices with the competition then 72 Mhz sales are dead. Ouch!!!! Kiwi |

I would love to see the 12FG positioned as the successor to the 9C and sell for $500. I'm not holding my breath. OK, now I see the price on tower. $999.99 Last edited by santaqwerty; 04-29-2007 at 04:17 PM. |

Not the 2.4GHz stuff. Or they're misprinting the ads. |

No new news is bad news in regards to a Product announced a month ago and prices were supposed to be announced within two weeks.
Is Futaba playing games with us to prevent us from jumping ship? Are they behind schedule for "Early Summer"?

Not good: The R606FS has just been made incompatible to most modules:

looks like all the G3 TX's will work with all FASST rx's....only legacy TX's that don't support G3 will be incompatible with the 6ch rx.
...either way...no big deal to me...

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but it looks like pricing has been updated on Tower's website.
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=++&search3=Go 4 hundo for the module and receiver.

That 8th channel must be "extra special"! BTW, I did end up buying a 6EX with an extra receiver. So far so good, no reboots in flight. Bob R.

Here in Japan, 2.4GHz for R/C is still illegal. However having checking a lot of forums about 2.4GHz, I'm going to choose the FASST. So far, there seems to be no re-boot issue caused by voltage and no lock-out. R606FS is not good since not compatible with upcoming TM7, but IMO still OK! Because it is OK with new generation of TM14. Anyway, first of all, we have to wait till the day that Japan legalize the use of 2.4G though..
