Gus,

I need your help mate, I will link you to my other thread but I have a top location for sloping here. Good winds easily 20 knots and on a good day 15 at least. Wind from the south steady onto 150 - 200 cliffs that face at 90 degrees to the wind.

The slopes are used by para gliders and hang gliders and birds so there's no doubt about it working but here are my concerns.

The winds are strong and I'm worried that using a small light glider is going to end up with something that gets buffeted to death, too light for the conditions etc.

I consider myself a pretty good pilot but bugger all with gliders but that shouldnt be hard to master I hope.

What should I be looking for, I like fast, I think I need weight to handle these winds and I like chucking things around a bit.

Mate any advice would be appreciated. If you help me out I will see to it that the all blacks dont kick butt too hard in the rugby world cup then.

Look forward to your comments please.

Kiwi, EPP wings Like a BEE or Zagi are great to get into sloping. The fly pretty well in all sorts of conditions, and dont break .
Hollow moulded ships fly good, but are a ba$$tard to repair. I prefer a more conventional sheeted or Composite finnished foam core, a lot easier to repair, and more ruggered when landing.
As far as planes go, I personly like the Aeromod planes, AldiJ, MiraJ, Prodij, Voltij.
The Aldij and Miraj make pretty good all round slopers. Our club, we have about 5 or 6 Aldijs flying, and have had them through a radar gun between 115mph to 140mph on the front of the slope, no DS
There loads of good slope designs out. RC groups probably has the biggest online slope forums.
f3x.com has loads of soaring stuff.
