yes this is the prototype. The cowl will be changed on the production in order to give it a more rounded look.

I already promised myself I'll get one copy.
Would this plane hover with a DA50 engine? Or do I need a bigger engint?

THks

Yeah that looks kinda flat to me. If I had the money for one I'd go with the aerotech. But why, when there's a Wild Hare waiting for me.

IMO it looks like a glorified .40 glow engine size half baked, sorta "scale" model. It's not even close to the real Python other than the decal on the side proclaiming it to be one. That goes for the revised version too. Still not very close. Too skinny and spindly. Too bad.

It probably flies better than the Scale one too......Who in their right mind would want a great flying semi-scale model?

So has anyone flown this biplane yet?? I'm really interested in buying one but I want to know what its flight characteristics are. I really don't see many people talking about this airplane, and it is expensive by comparison to other biplanes of its size (e.g., Peaks Models Pitts Python for hundreds less).

And why are these models always pictured with girls, and do the girls jack up the price? LOL!

Just wondered ,ayroboteck, if you realize this thread is 2 years old ? :-) It's ok, don't mean to criticize...

I have the plane and it flies great . It is expensive but realize you don't have to buy ANY hardware at all ... this is the first airplane I have bought nothing except aluminum servo arms .Plus the hardware is also the best I have ever seen by far. I got it from Chief Aircraft and also did not pay ANY shipping. The plane ended up costing less than others I have built for these reasons.

Having said all that I cannot encourage you to buy this plane for one simple reason... it is an unauthorized copy of a copyrighted plane and name . Only QQ Somenizi can produce a plane and call it a "Pitts Python" or "T-12 Pitts" etc. The original designers are JR Kimball Co. and they have authorized ONLY QQ to build and sell RC copies of their planes.

If I were you I would wait a bit - before end of year - QQ Somenizi now works for Horizon and he is coming out w/a brand new exact copy of Kimball's newest plane in 100cc size - the Pitts Python "Beast" . Go to www.jimkimballenterprises.com and see actual full-size information on "Beast" . It is a beautiful plane and is the only new fully copyrighted Python out there .

I am very sorry Aeroworks has done this as they build great planes .
