I'm a huge Laser fan and I have the same kit that I'm getting ready to start just as soon as I get my shop finished. What are you going to pwr with? I just purchased a NIB BME 80 twin to go in mine. Did you use the ply that came with the kit for the fuse or did you swap it for lighter stuff? Are you planning any mods? I'll be watching.

keith,
thanks for the interest. im hopeing this build goes smooth as the last one that ive built. this one is not for me but a freind at the flying field. im not sure of any mods that he wants to do to the plane. we will most likely order the bob godfrey foam turtle deck and fiberglass cowl and wheel pants if there still availible. not sure what he plans to put in it for power. anything from a g-62 to a zdz 80. i am going to use the fuse sides that came with the plane. seemed to work well with the last one i had and flew. if you have any question let me know. keep an eye on here ill be getting more done soon.

Matt the one piece wingcover/canopy from Godfrey are nice as well. I believe he has the split cowl now which is nice, I had to split mine from Fiberglass Specialties myself. Very tedious but came out nice. If your using a twin I would think a split cowl would be a must. I used a Mac Minnerelli 85 twin, also had to put receiver and batteries in the tail.

I would recommend a 3W75iUS. That is what's in the Lanier Laser that dad and I have. It hovers at less than 1/2 throttle with a 26x10 menz. Video:http://www.flyinggiants.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=7420&cat=500&ppuser=533

Matt
The mods I did to mine was the the turtle deck I cut my own foam and sheeted with 1/16 contest balsa.using the ABS one as a template. A good friend is excellent with fiberglass and used the ABS cowl to make a mould for me. I also cut 2 1/2 holes in the wing in front of the spars. I ran a ZDZ 80. Here are are couple of photos. larry,
to let you know, lanier no longer makes this kit. this was found off the net somewhere. these kits are very hard to find. rumor has it that godfrey is going to come back out with his kit. dave, plane looks good. i had a g-62 in mine and it flew it well, just wouldnt 3d. would hover but didnt have alot of pull out power.

Got one of these jewels in a trade, was about 75% finished. I think it had been thru several owners and never got finished. I have it almost ready to cover. Just finishing up the various linkages, tail flying wires, etc and it'll be ready to finish sand and cover. Got the Monokote in yesterday along with the paint. Will be True Red. Going for the Leo Loudenslager air show BUDLIGHT version. Have got the decal kit also for this scheme. Will be powered by an old but powerful Sachs 4.2. If I really take a liking to this plane, I might upgrade the power plant to something a bit larger. I have a 5.8 BME twin that is just dying to go in it, but it powers a 30% Goldberg Ultimate right now. So many options, will just play it out as it happens....PACO
