Default Lanier 87" Extra 330 Arf?

Anyone out there flying this or thinking of flying it??? Would like some feedback on how the plane does and others opinions on it.

http://www.lanierrc.com/lrcprivate/r...xtra330arf.htm

I have one w/ a DA50, Hitec digi's, Dx7 Radio System, have only flown it a couple of times, but so far think it's going to be a great plane.

I have one with an Evolution 58 in it. I have run 3 gallons through it. The plane flys lighter than it is. Mine comes in at 18 pounds. No wing drop, slows way down on landings. Good fit and finish on plane. Good 3D locks in a hover no wing rock in a harrier. Knife edge has no coupling with a neutral CG. They were $399.00 at the Toledo show.Great plane for the money.

I am very suprised that this has not been more popular. I helped a guy set one up with a DA and a standard muffler and all li-ions. Nothing else special it was 17 lbs even. It flew very nice and had 3D throws.... for the price, I don't get why more folks don't fly them...

I got the edge at toledo this year and am running a 60cc engine and a bud light canister in it. I must say the directions don't show anything about putting a can in this but mine fit great. I am still finishing it up but It does feel light for the size. the rudder on the edge is the same size as my 35%planes plus extra except for 2" on the bottom! I will be running 645mg's all around on 6v. I also got mine for WAY under $399 at the lanier booth. I think they have finally got rid of the heavy plane syndrome.

I do not think 645's will be enough servo . Especially for 3D

i agree i don't think i would recommend 645's on the ailerons and elevators with this, but if you are conservative in your flying it will hold for awhile

I ran 645's on my older, larger Lanier Edge 540. They've held up fine. The new owner flies it much harder than I did, and no problems with them.

Wow, I would have bet you would get blow back or flutter on the 645's...

well, i now have about 20 flights on the plane, mainly imac type flying, not much of 3der. Plane flies great except i can not get the plane to stall in the air. i increase the angle fo attack as i am losing airspeed, and just when it should stall through the horizontal line it falls right back to wings level and i have to then initiate the spin.

other than that no problems with the plane at all, great for the price

I fly 2 645mg's per aileron on my 35% extra with no problems at all (6.0v), also flew 1 per aileron and all other surfaces on a carden 50cc extra with no problems even at 4.8v. I have been using them for years with no issues.

Hello from Puerto Rico to all, first posting on FG!!

I have right now the Lanier Yak 54, with the 3W 80xi, 5645mg Hitecs all around, JR 790 PCM and this plane is really good. With the 3W80xi is on 20lb, and it have like 9 flights right now, the second flight was on an IMAC Sportsman, It flight really well to be the 2nd flight and no exponentials, I get 2nd place in that event. Well, the plane is really good.

GremlinX: I also should have said the 645's on the Lanier Edge I had are running on 6.0volts. The new owner uses the Power Box system from Aircraft International.

I have the same problem with mine when I do IMAC flying it is hard to get it to stall for the stall turn. Try moving your CG forward it help mine.
