Default Dual PCM link vs 2.4GHz

Guys, Have any of you seen or perhaps already used this system from Emcotec??

It allows the use of two receivers on two different bands, with your TX also transmitting on both (though limited to the Graupner TX for now)

Which would you think is more secure, 2.4GHz or this system, and what are your reasons?

Lets not get into "my brand is better than your brand", or it wont work in my country, etc etc. Just a basic discussion, opinions and factual data where possible.

Thanks guys

I am waiting in the wings for spectrum feedback. The emotech system would be nice if it allowed two totally seperate systems on seperate frequencys. looks like the emotech is only avalable in 35 and 40mhz.

I would be interested in a 72mhz transmitter that has built in dual receiver function, that would simotanuously transmit on two seperate frequencys, but the problem with this would be having to hang two pins.

I guess there is no simple answer to our problems.

Well from what I read on the Emotech site, they can do it on 72MHz as well, basically they will modify whatever transmitter modules you provide them. THough of course the immunity to other forms of inteference is not there ( i.e. metal to metal, etc)

It looks like it would be a good solution, before 2.4GHz SS became available. It looks to me like it has to be two modules on separate bands, which would not work here in the states and many other parts of the world, i.e., in the states we HAVE to fly on 72MHz, in Denmark they HAVE to fly giant scale on 35MHz only, and I'm sure that in many other countries, air borne and/or giant scale is limited to one band only.

With the availability of the XtremeLink system, you can not beat it in value and safety. With XL a module is $80.00, an 8ch Rx is $100.00, a 10ch Rx is $120.00, how do you beat that price?

I know it is only in the hands of a few (100-200 maybe) at this moment, and there have only been a couple of reports so far, but they are very positive. I don't know of anybody who owns the system, who has said anything negative.

To me, the fact that all those bands are susceptible to interference from other equipment on our planes and that (I assume) you would still need to get an open frequency (or two) in order to be able to fly makes me think it is not a viable solution and that 2.4ghz is superior.

Thanks for the input guys. I am also waiting for the XPS system for myself, and possibly the Futaba one also. From what I have read, it seems that this system is more viable in europe, France in particular, as they have some limitations on the 2.4GHz systems.

But looks like 2.4 is still the better choice
