Default emcotec question(s)

Any body running any type of emcotoc DPSI, got pictures of set-up? Do I have to regulat the batteries into it? Can I use my switches or does it switch itself with the the little panel it comes with like the powerbox? Lastly for now. How the $$$$ do you solder your battery lead onto that goofy green connector?

I just got done a Emcotec mini, very easy to install, all in one unit. It regulates, pulls evenly from the batts,is redundant. For the unit itself you use there switch. The MPX connectors for the batteries you just solder the leads on and shrink tube the ends.

Thanks, I'm in the process of hookin up some MPX connector for the ailerons making just one connection for each of the wings. I just got them from DA, it makes a cleaner install also.

I just bought a mini for my newest bird, and I have the DSPI RV LDO in my 37.5% Yak and it works great.

Hey Jon,
These are neat setups. It has a full proof swith setup with it. Yes, It does regulate the batteries down to what you select. There are several selections on the unit for voltage . You do not use your regular radio switchs.
You can check the DA web site for pricing and yes, you have to solder those goofy plugs to your batteries.
Good solid units.
Need any other questions answered, just call.
I had one in my 40% edge. It even warned me of a potential problem before it became one.

Heres how I put mine in a super extra.

I really like it so far, it draws the batteries evenly and I have not a hit (touch wood) to speak of at all. (running a single rx).

Edit..... heres an extra picture showing it all wired up.

In answer to you other question, no you cant use your owns swithes, thats half the point of the unit, it wont power on unil the little pin has been put into the on position, then it wont power off until you put the pin back into the off position.

This means if the little pin were to fall out in flight the model will stay turned on, its a pretty neat little setup.

One other cool thing is the audible low battery/short circuit warnings. I know of one person who turned his model on and it screamed and beeped at him..... checked his voltage's and voila the battery the emcotec was screaming about was dead.
