I don't have the final list of scores, I just know that Marcelo came second in both the large scale and pattern comps.

Anybody seen the new Genesis WC (World Championships) with side force generators?

"Pooftmatic" is a good pattern plane name, sounds soft and smooth. Best name ever for a pattern plane was "Halo", wad a champ for putting that on his plane some European..

I happen to like that name, Mike, so much that I have one on the bench. It's the name that sold me, forget about the fact it flies better than any plane I've ever flown!!

Hey Ken, I DID Mention that while I'm in Texas I'm going to help you get that plane ready for finish right? It looks close, and you have an original...more original than my 2 even. That belly pan alone has (at today's prices) about $200 worth of carbon and kevlar.

Being a designer, I have to tell you, the hardest part of designing that plane was NAMING IT!!!!! I went through several. I realized what the audience was, used to fluffy bunny names, and knew if you named a plane some serious smack down name, it had BETTER fly good. I have even had very religeous people tell me they wouldn't fly it because of the name. To each his own.

After flying the VF3, I am so tempted to change the name it's not even funny.

You bet brother!! Arch told me you had mentioned that. The only problem I foresee is the tube holes in the fuse sides are drilled for a 7/8" tube and the tube I have is 1". This wouldn't be a problem except one wing has already been opened up for the larger tube and the other is still 7/8". At this point, with my current tools, I haven't figured out how to guarantee a straight hole in the wing when I open it up to receive the larger tube. You don't happen to have a portable drilling jig you could bring, do you? Drilling the fuse sides isn't a big deal, I can just plug the holes and re-drill with a hole saw or Forstner bit, I think my bits go that big.

Sorry for hijacking the thread guys

As for the name, I'm a God fearing man myself, the Lord knows I'm flying a plane with the name, not practicing the concept...

Very cool Mike, sure wish the one wing hadn't been opened up, I could have "somehow" gotten a 7/8" tube, even though I know they are extremely hard to find.

Talk to you soon!!

7/8" tubes are actually quite common. In fact I have about 5 of them sitting on the shelf myself.

I understood nobody has them in stock, probably mis-understood, it wouldn't be the first time
