Default JR 811 servo question

I have had two 811 servos fail when running them on 6 volts, both failed on the ground, neither ever flown, they were just idling on the bench when I was working on the rest of the elevator linkage (the failed servos were on the throttle). They were not binding and there was no over travel problems, they just died while not doing anything..... Wonder if anyone else has had problems with 811's on 6 volts?

Thanks,

WRK

YES ! I have had 3 servos fail and all were on 6 v. I use them for all my 40 size stuff and the throttle is the first to go for me. Might be the vibration. Many people have been using them with good luck but not me. JR service was very good to me and has replaced or upgraded them. The 811 was replaced with a new and better version 821. Just contact Horizon. Sounds like it was defective.

I've got them on all surface on my .40 glow and throttles on my large gassers.....no problems at 6V and I fly all my stuff at that

Mine are 3 years old, many hard flights, 3d settings in 40 funtana with 61. Unregulated 6v so actually closer to 6.8 volts. Very happy with them. JR warranty is awsome, you must have got a bad batch.

I've had one fail on my rudder ( on an ultra stick), other than that, they have been great.

I havent had any failures on my 811's but I had the servos jitter like crazy on 6 volts in my 90 U-Can Do and after putting them into my Funtana 90 it was worse. JR told me to use a PCM rx with these servos. Sent them back they checked them out replaced pots (so they said) I put 4 of them in my Dave Patrick Ultimate and 4 in my JR Venture 30 Heli. Both are using FM rxs with no problems now. The plane is 6 volts and the Heli is 4.8. My dad is using one on his 33% Extra on the throttle. Who knows maybe you just got a hold of some duds.
