Don't know if I like those 2' high barriers. Seems like it would be easy to not see it and trip while flying.

We have PVC pilot stations, which are about 4' high (with tops for timers, TX's, etc.), and wrap around very slightly on the sides. The fence is chain link. No RF issues.

Never had an issue with tripping. I think 4 ft would give more protection, and a spot to sit timers and Xmitters would be nice.

Charlotte Aeromodelers recently erected a new safety fence using a heavy gauge plastic fencing named Sentry Secure Heavy Duty Construction/Security fence bought from US Netting <www.usnetting.com>. Ask for Kelly. $104.00 for a 4x50 ft roll.

Hope this helps....

Depending on where you live, this may or may not be an option.
If Tony see this, maybe he can post some pics.

The hedges are nice for sure but high maintenance. 30" high should be the max height so us short guys don't get our antenna's stuck in the hedges, 24" to me is the perfect height.

Our club uses 4 X 8 pressure treated lattice panels attached to pvc posts. Painted green every couple of years, still looks great.

Keep in mind that the white Schedue 40 PVC that lots of places use is not UV stable and will turn as brittle as glass in a short time. Painting helps but does not completely prevent this. Sched. 40 is not approved in most places for above ground installations for just this reason. (Talking about plumbing, etc.)

Our club uses PVC with chicken wire. The lower spacing between the wires seems to minimize damage as long as the plane hits it head on.

that is true judge the sun is harsh on all things wood = splinters, steel = hot!!!!, but a little paint goes a long way. so you replace the pvc everynow and then keep it fresh
