Default Spektrum Modules - Wringin 'em out!

Straight up, the "Killer App" for modeling in 2007! Spread Spectrum Technology is taking the modeling scene by storm! The first Spektrum 2.4ghz retrofit modules are reportedly about to hit your local hobby shops, and we’ve got our hands on the first units to hit the market!

After much design, development, stringent testing, and anticipation, the good folks at Spektrum and Horizon have finally brought to market the most anticipated product of 2007. Manufacturer approved and designed modules for a JR systems and wide array of existing 72 megahertz transmitters!

As you all know, we’re the ultimate fanboys of 2.4 Spread Spectrum Technology, and we’re stoked to see the progression that has taken place the past year and a half! Our initial tests are nothing but insanely positive with the Spektrum transmitter modules, receivers, and flight loggers, and we’re absolutely giddy with excitement! We're currently wringin' 'em out folks without a hiccup to report!

Stay tuned for the upcoming FlyingGiants Product Perspective review of the system, and remember where you saw it first! We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. It’s an exciting time to be a modeler, and technology is on a TEAR folks! Enjoy the photo flood!

Can any of you Rocket Scientists out there explain why JR needs Two remote Receivers and Futaba has none?

Just curious!

I know you already know this but tell us since you have flown both, how does it feel compared to the DX-7 locked in feel..........as fast.....close........does the cable get in the way, and does the unit as a whole fit in you TX case, without dismantling.

Thanks

not sure if this has anything to do with it but maybe why futaba only needs the primary reciever is that the futaba antenae almost look as if they are on 6 inch long extensions before you get to the 1.5 inch antenaes while the spectrum stuff is just the 1.5 inch antenae right out of the reciever. I never noticed this in pictures on the net, noticed it up at the toledo show. Basically the futaba appears that it might be set up to get two totally different recptions while the specktrum stuff is so close together that if one is blocked the other has a higher probability of being blocked also, atleast compared to futaba. Just my observations, no science behind my reasoning.

The higher you go in frequency the more susceptible you are to things like polarity (vertical vs horizontal) and obstructions (wood etc). Having multiple antennas and picking the one that is providing the best signal lets you have a better chance of a clean signal.

Can you get by with one antenna? Probably. Is more of them better? Probably, if they are mounted in different plains.

I just looked at pics on towers site and futabas site and I didn't see a single pic of a reciever that shows the antenae, they were always choped off in the pic so you can't actually see how they look. They normally appear to look like specktum stuff but they are a little different.

That what I am saying, in the photo it looks like you see all the antenae and it looks similar to specktum but believe me thats not what was at the booth in toledo.
