Good Call Spaz!
Looks like team Orange has no remote antenna.....at least on their 6 channel. It still seems that Team Orange is still way short of Pricing info on the 2.4GHz Tx's Magoo |

My 9ch module is backordered. Horizon indicated they should be shipping the first shipment to their dealers late next week.
Question - what is the range test procedure for these modules? Thanks, Steve |

Since there have been a couple of comments about the Futaba modules, here are some photos. Courtesy of Teambob00.

Having said that, it is probably best that we let this thread get back to it's title - Discussions on the new Spektrum modules (which are not nearly as cool looking as the Futaba modules. I'm hoping we get a cool blue light in our modules!!)

Max is trying out the new module/receiver in Tuna Boat this weekend in his first IMAC competition out in Vegas. Should be interesting to see if he can fly a straight line! I talked to him yesterday and he said that he really liked having 2.4 on his 10X.

Max did great at the IMAC, he took second. The Tuna Boat was the perfect plane for the high winds we had, and Max did a great job flying straight. He also spent a lot of time doing some hucking while the rest of were kept down by the winds. Max can fly.
The Spektrum module was flown all weekend without issues. It looks like Spektrum had sent along a data logger as part of the test. After flying, Max would download the data and call in the numbers to Spektrum. They seemed to be pleased with the results, indicating that they were having no problems at this field. Looks like Spektrum is serious about their testing program. I was suprised at how neat the installation was, it looked very proffessional. The cable did not seem to be an issue even though Max flies with tray. I'm sure Max will provide a complete report soon. -STEVE- |

I asked Max about the numbers he got.........there were some dropped info and other "high" numbers. A suggestion was made to move the RX a little higher in the fuse by the folks on the phone (I don't think Max did as maintenance is not really his thing). The plane flew great and never had a hiccup though. Max was using the 3 RX mode of the system as well.

Thanks for the update. I am flying my AR7000 Rx in my QQ 102" Yak. I even have huge holograph Yak 54 graphics on each wing that span some 80% of each wing panel. The main Rx antenna is located above the wing centerline with the antenna perpendicular to the thrust axis. The satellite Rx is located near the belly of the plane (on the side of the fuse) with the antenna parallel to the thrust line. I've had over 25 glitch free flights. It absolutely rock stable. I plan to install my AR9000 Rx in the same location and fly the plane with the module in my 10X Tx and then also compare it to my DX7 Tx. Hopefully Horizon ships these units soon
Regards, Steve |

Not to take the thread off topic again but I think those interested in 2.4 technology have the right to know correct information. I think I was pretty much told I didn't know what I was talking about and to "check the manual" Well I did and I say go to page 8 of the manual and actually take a close look at the pics and the illustrations. The antenae are connected to the reciever via a coax exntension it looks like to me thus getting the actual antenae much farther apart than that which is capable with the Specktrum brand of 2.4 equipment. You can also go to the futaba direct support forum on the other site and someone asked the question if the shiny wire is the antenae and the other part is just a coax extension like the manual suggest and it was confirmed that yes that is the case.
