Aeroworks Edge 540T Fix
Ok. Some of you guys wanted to see this, so here it goes.
About a month or 2 ago my engine box broke on my Aeroworks Edge 540T 33%, and let me tell you guys. This was not one of those things that I found the break when I went to put it in the car, or I heard a snap fliping the engine over. My engine box broke IN FLIGHT! I was flying around, second flight of the season and the day. It was the flight that I started doing aerobatics. All of a sudden it felt like I was getting interference on my NEW Spectrum DX-7. It felt like I was getting right rudder and my throttle locked up. So at this time I was doing what I could to keep it up. Then all I hear is a big snap sound almost. the Engine was turned 90 degrees and the prop was chopping into my wing. Then another snap and the engine quit. The engine was dangling by the throttle push rod at this time. Of course the cg was way off as I made my approach. I brought it around and landed it. the only other damage was the engine caught the ground first and went underneith the fuselage and broke a couple of stringers. Alright so the Fixing has begun. I will post before and after pictures soon. I rebuilt a whole new engine box, and i am in the process of fixing the wing. Stay tuned. Jamie

It was very unfortunate. It pushed me back on IMAC practicing. But its almost finished, and now I have a NEW plane to get done for this year, but I will still work on the Edge.

I did contact AW, I had a engine fail last minute and landed ok just in a bad spot and hit a fence post, took out the leading edge about four inches deep, 4 inches wide, I contacted AW they said they used 9lb density Virgin White foam, googled it and could not find it anywhere, i'm just using styroam foam from a styrofoam cooler it is amazing close to what they used, i'm gonna cut a block out a shape it.
