Yo mah brothers, don't sweat the Chubby's..this is one Foamy that can stand a wee bit of pudge...you will find that it will penetrate a wee bit better in the wind..if your an outdoor flyer, the extra weight will serve you well, on mine with the A20-20L and the full-on flame-on paint scheme running the 1250 Tanics it is a surperb combo...but I don't fly it indoors at all.

Sure I have always tried to hit the lowest weight I could, and kudos to you anorexic freaks that can...just don't over sweat the ounces on this bird...

Glad to hear your diggin' them...

well I maidened my super xtra today, it flew good, I have too small of a motor and prop combo on it, I read somewhere that the axi 2212-26 would be enough for the plane, and it flew good but I was flying at 3/4 to full power and it was flying barely above stall speed. I am going to change out the motor this week. i just bought a eflite park 480 for it. with my elevation and the size of the plane I think that the 480 will be just about perfect for the plane. what I did notice today was that the plane had a presence in the air and it was not real 'twitchy' on the controls even in high rates. as for the deflection of the surfaces, what are the rough deflections that you (others) are getting for full? I am 85 degrees on the ailerons, about the same on the elevator, and the rudder I am limited to limits set by the elevators.

my electronics are
eflite S75 servos
berg 6ch fm reciever
castle creations phoenix 25
Thunder Power 1900mah 3s
AXI 2212-26 (soon to be park 480)
APC 10x3.8 (apc 12x3.8 for 480)

Im using
eflite S75 servos
berg 4L reciever
castle creations phoenix 25
a hacker 20 20
APC 10X4.7
Tanic 1180 Lipo 3 cell

I just flew mine about 2 weeks ago due to wing and it flys really good. I thought it could use a LITTLE more rudder so I cut out the elevator a LITTLE bit. I cut about 1-2 cm out of both sides of the elevator. It helped it have more rudder in a hover and stuff. As for deflections on everything else. I'm using around 45 on elevator and ailierons. The elevator will end up as close to 90 degrees by the end of next week =) It has pretty good power and flys great! I think the e flight servos are going to have to go. They dont center good at all. I will replace them with HS 55 or 56's very soon. Other than that, this plane kicks ass!! It's a blast to fly. It seems to fly a little on the heavy side, mine being at around 20 ounces, but it still flys good. Flys more like a real plane.

Is this company still active?
The website seems dated with dead links...

Bob, 3DFoamy is still in business. John said that he cleaned the links up recently and he is still producing kits. I have owned the Super Cap, Pro Giles (2 of em) and now am flying the Pro Katana. All are good foamies though I think the Giles is my favorite for my flying style. I also have had the F-14 park jet until my GWS receiver went tango uniform, and replaced it with the T-38 which I converted to an F-5. The park jets are a real kick and something different and fun to fly.

I really liked my super Extra, but All of the 3DFoamy designs fly well, just depends on your personal taste. Like Ryan mentioned, the park jets are all pretty cool, too, especially the swing-wing F-14!!! That is a real crowd pleaser!!!

Good luck with your decision and have a blast with whatever ya get!!!

I want the new Yak 54 epp http://www.nesail.com/detail.php?productID=5804 . but have always built the planes from the old 3D batix site http://www.4shared.com/dir/8663280/a...1/3dbatix.html . the diablo and foam e IIX 3D fly great. I just built the extra 330 and it is awesome. easy to build and once you buy everything it only costs you $10 when you crash to make another.

Not sure what any of this has to do with the original posters' question, as he was asking about 3DFoamy.com products!!!
