Default Comp ARF Extra 300SX 2.6m

Had the test flight today, all went well. It looks great and flies even better!

I am running a DA100 / MTW TDK 75 Cans, JR 8611a's all round and Smart-Fly Power Expander and Turbo Reg.

It came out a bit on the tail heavy side with all the vinyl graphics, I'm thinking about digital printing the logos on the stabs to save some weight as there wil only be one layer of vinyl.

Only one flight so far, I had some plumbing issues - the vent line on the tank came a bit close to the canisters and melted... I have a couple of other minor changes to do and then I can do some seriour flying. I have Wednesday off work so I hope to get a few flights in.

Here are some pics:

WOW! Sweet and nice lookin' 300SX!! Great job
I doubt the vinyl graphics on the tail contribute to the CG issue. I would try a heaver prop (Dynathrust perhaps) and a solid aluminum spinner back plate to cg her out.

Ya gotta be proud of that bird!

All paint work and vinyl graphics were done by myself, designed on the computer in CorelDraw then all I had to do was take the file to my signwriter to use his plotter.

The painting was a huge task... I'd probably never do it again. I had to sand the gel coat off then prime, sand, mask and paint. The blue is a 2k pearl with a clearcoat finish. It came out sweet but the number of hours gone into this bird... I don't think I'd do it again.

Great looking plane!!!! What batteries and switches are you using? Is that an optical cutoff for the ignition or is that a bat share?

Yes, that is a smart-fly opticial ignition kill. It works great.
Batteries are Fromeco Peerless 2600mah. 2 going into the turbo regulator, one for ignition. The switch is a modified JR Type C switch, It doesn't really need a switch as the TurboReg has failsafe switch on setup. (the default switch I got with the regulator didn't work so I rewired the JR one I had)
