5955TGs for sure. the 8711s still have metal gears which will wear out quicker

I do not and have not used an 8711. I have had 10+ 8611's and I can say honestly, if they develop the slop that the 8611's have, I think I would stay 5955. The JR pilots, and the JR die-hards that I fly with say the slop is normal and never bothers anything. When I spend a lot of money on an airplane, linkages, high dollar ball links, super duper whamperdyne aluminum arms.... then it has 3/16" slop on the aileron.... No thanks. I am not bashing JR or their pilots. The slop may not even hurt anything. It is just the fact of the matter that keeps me spending on the Hitec's. My opinion. I do not own or operate any 8711's. They may have fixed this slop with them. Perhaps a JR pilot can supply some information.

I have 5955s on a yak and after half a season they're as tight as in the first flight--every single one of them, and I toss them around pretty good. I can't talk about the 8711s as I haven't used them, but I love the TGs

I use both 8711s and the 5955s...For me the JRs are smoother and give me a better feel...You may have to replace the gears in the JRs once in awhile but IMO I like them better

JR servos are baddest servos on the planet.. ..if you're a die hard JR fan and/or sponsored by them. I've had 2 dozen or more 8411 and 8611's - never again. All of the 5955's I have are as tight after 100 flights as they were when I took them out of the box. The last time I had more than 50-60 flights on a JR I almost lost a 40% due to aileron flutter.. The Hitec's programmability is priceless, not to mention they're (the least of my concern) cheaper than the JR's; at least for those that have to actually pay for them. I have not used the 8711, nor do I care to. I have little doubt the gear train will wear the same as the 84/8611. If it doesn't, good for JR - 'bout time.. Luckily, their service is undeniably good; unfortunately, you'll need it.

i got 3 8711 on tail my 35% edge
and 5955 on the wings
5955 faster then 8711 but 8711 is brand new servo and i dont know how it is
in the long run
but 5955 is also much smoother

As a long standing user of JR products my choice would be to go with the 5955. Matter of fact I just recently ordered five of the 5955's for a new project. I have to damn many loose 8611's and the 8711 is the same servo for all intents and purposes. JR states that there is no problem with the 8611 gear train...

I'd rather run a pair of tight 5955's on a rudder than one servo that will exibit gear wear quickly.

ok im using 1 8711 on the rudder extremly fast
1 8711 on each elevater half runs good and
and 2 5955 on each wing works super fast

Also remember Futaba has the new S9156 servo available. I just put eight in my plane. They are fast and precise without the play in the geartrain. It's hard to beat Futaba quality, My 9152's have over 700 flights on them!
