Wayne may be a team JR guy, but I also understand him to be very honest and credible. On my own account as a run of the mill flyer; a few years ago I had a lock out in one of my C/A 3.3 Yaks, and it was a total loss crash into a lake. Peter Goldsmith called me a few days later to find out what happened, my setup and the gear I had on board. Well, a few days after that a package showed at my door from Horizon Hobby's with a letter stating sorry for your loss and thank you for flying JR, in addition there was a brand new 10X radio, 14 8611s, 1 digital throttle servo, batteries, switches, 2 945 receivers, 4 match boxes and all wiring hardware. To me; that is service way beyond the call of duty so I will shell out a few extra bucks for that JR stuff and never think twice

I understand there are people who feel this way and thats why I didnt put my .02 in.

Sponsored or not, the stuff I use now is the stuff I'd use even without sponsorship and thats just the honest truth.

I know of a pilot (Gene Lasker)that flies strictly sirus on everything north of the CG and hobbico on the backside.
He can roll it up willy, flip it over, and smack it down jones.
No matter what you have, someone will reccomend the other. Buy what you want, mix the oil you think works best, help some kid who needs it and smile. Get back to the excitement we all had with our first solo and live life. I haven't met anyone in this hobby I don't like. I just enjoy the whole deal that comes with the hobby.
Dang near a rant, but I am a different bird.

Max, fill up my planes in my avatar thingy.

You can shove 7.2volts at 5955 for more power. Power spec numbers are a strange advert game with overclocking the volts. TG "Feel the diffence" in the gear slop..

Yup, and he modded the bearings. I think he shocks the balls and they give less resistance.

5955TG all the way, they are bullet proof and eliminate the need for the complexity and weight of matchboxes by using the programmer
